Advantages: Cars, cars, cars & Angelina
Disadvantages: Plot & acting (or lack of)

...Gone in 60 seconds...... well, I would have done just that, if it had'nt been for the many, many sexy cars and one, even sexier Angelina Jolie. Although the plot was thin (ex-carjacker comes back to town and has to boost 50 ultimate cars in three days to save his little brother's life), and the acting very weak (Nik Cage is capable of a lot more - see Leaving Las Vegas), this film has the nack of making you feel almost invicible (the 'rocky' syndrome), however, instead of the desire to punch people 'Gone in 60 seconds' makes you want to do 360 handbrake turns in the Warner Village car park. In short, this film is a pure machismo, adrenalin ride - One for the boys!... Read review

Advantages: Great Action

...Love or hate him Jerry Bruckhiemer produces blockbusters time after time. His latest offering Gone In 60 Seconds starring Nicolas Cage is an adrenalin packed lesson in cool. In short Cage must steal 50 cars in one night or his little brother (Giovanni Ribisi) gets murdered. What you musn't expect is a storyline to match the greats but what you must expect is great cars, great music and great action topped with cool and a little humour. Other stars include Robert Duvall as an ageing car thief and Angelina Jolie showing the Ferrari's up. Maybe this film is one for the lads but it does deliver what it promised.... Two hours of easy to watch fun. The DVD has some nice extras including a music video and a "Making of" documetry.... Read review
