...Intro. The Longest Yard is a predictable yet amusing comedy. The Character are likable, yet there is nothing original about anything in the film. This is a remake of the Burt Reynold's 1974 film. Adam Sandler's version is more likely to lose his fans then gain new ones. That said it has some good points and is a enjoyable comedy. The main selling point to the film is the cast - they work well together and there is chemistry and their friendships are believable. Story Paul Crewe is a disgraced football star, who ends up in jail after a car chase involving the police, a stolen car and plenty of beer. Paul finds himself in a prison being bullied into training up a prisoner football team in preparation for playing the guard, after he advises the warden to play a tune up game. ...The longest yard is possibly the funniest film I have watched in a long time. Adam Sandler stars in this film as an ex professional american football player who gets arrested for dangerous driving. While serving time in jail he forms a prison american football team to play against the guards. When the 'mean machines' coach is killed by one of the guard cronies, after he went into Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler) and switched the light bulb on and it exploded it just geared the team up more. As Paul continues to recruit many players, the guards leave them with many obstacles such as flooding there training pitch. But they get around this and even get there own back.
