Explosions, Explosions and more Explosions!!!
Advantages: 3 films for the price of 1 Disadvantages: No extras
...seperately, so here goes:
Broken Arrow
The Story is so simple and typical of an american writer, 2 Air Force pilots are pitted against each other in a race to recover two stolen nuclear warheads. It makes you wonder what realy happens over in america, they seem to lose more nuclear weapons than i care to imagine!!! What transpires is a Fast Paced action adventure that makes you wonder what incredibel feat will the main stars (Travolta, Slater) do ... ...myself during watching!(Namely after the scene on top of the train, i added "It's been a while since anyone has shot between her legs")
Worth watching as it has good entertainment value.
I still thoroughly enjoyed this film, yet it was not a remarkable performance by any of the cast nor director!
Director:- John Woo
Cast include's:- John Travolta, Christian Slater, Delroy Lindo
Run Time:- 104mins approx
The Siege

the last samurai
Advantages: epic Disadvantages: cliched movie
...little room for surprises among the inevitable clichéd trappings of The Last Samurai, an epic cinematic scenario about a battle-worn war hero who has lost his soul but finds redemption in an ancient Japanese society he once perceived as the enemy.
Story A decorated soldier, Capt. Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) fought bravely during the Civil War, but in the years thereafter, pragmatism and self-interest embittered him. He now drinks heavily to drown ... ...proud Native Americans in the name of progress during the Indian Wars of the 1870s. As a mercenary for hire, Algren heads to Japan to train the newly formed Imperial Army and usher it into the burgeoning age of modern Western culture--a shift that will put Japan's ancient customs and values in jeopardy, including the tradition of the fierce and highly respected samurai warriors who once protected Japan with their fabled swords and still live by a ...

This Siege goes on for far too long!
Advantages: Action Scenes. Disadvantages: Everything Else.
The Siege was written by Lawrence Wright, Edward Zwick and Menno Meyjes. Lynda Obst and Edward Zwick produced the film, Edward Zwick also directed it. The film was released in 1998 and was distributed by 21st Century Fox. The film begins by showing footage from the Khobar Towers bombing which took place on June 25th 1996. The Khobar Towers was a building in Saudi Arabia which was being used by the US military. In the film, the blame for this attack ... ...covertly taken into custody by the US. The film then cuts to New York where we learn that there is a hostage situation involving a packed bus full of civilians. FBI agents Anthony Hubbard (Denzel Washington) and Frank Haddad (Tony Shalhoub) arrive at the scene and witness the bomb detonating. Fearing the worst, the agents are surprised when it transpires that this was a warning. Everyone aboard the bus is covered in blue paid. The FBI receive a fax ...

One hell of a culture shock
Advantages: Great visuals with stunning scenery, great actors, a great film Disadvantages: Story is a bit far fetched (but then that is Hollywoods way)
...and directed by Edward Zwick, the Last Samurai is a story of the bringing together of two cultures that was released back in January 2004.
****Story line****
There is a new Emperor of Japan, Emperor Meiji (Shichinosuke Nakamura), and some of the traditional Japanese residents are concerned over his appetite of western world culture. The traditionalists (led by the Samurais) rebel against the destruction of the Japanese culture and the Emperor has ... ...The Emperor decides to appoint Captain Nathen Algren (Tom Cruise), an American Civil War veteran, to train his army of peasants in the art of western world warfare and how to use firearms.
Algren gets seriously wounded during a battle that is really none of his concern. Katsumoto (Ken Watanabe) Leader of the Samurai takes Algren back to his Japanese village where he recovers. Whilst Algren is recuperating the Japanese winter sets in and he becomes ...

Dances with Sushi
Advantages: well acted Disadvantages: too similar to dances with wolves
...who is hired to train the Japanese army as they attempt to overcome the samurai. Overwhelmed in battle, Algren's bravery impresses the ancient samurai people, who take him in as one of their own and teach him their ways. IS IT ANY GOOD: I have mixed feelings about this film, and still don't really know what to say about it. On the one hand, it's just 'Dances With Wolves' all over again, but this time in Japan. The plot is so similar, it's a wonder ... ...which makes it predictable, despite the alien culture the film aims to embody. The way of life in the samurai culture is, perhaps, the film's saving grace; they do a very good job of respectfully presenting a way of life that many of us will know nothing about. Acting wise, Cruise does a good job, but his character lacks any real depth. The film is full of high emotional scenes that are over the top in that way that Hollywood often goes, and Cruise ...
