Naturally Great
Advantages: A great story and the acting is brilliant. Disadvantages: Some stange camera angles are adopted which might annoy others.
This film was released in 1994 and instantly become one of the most controversial films on the screen at the time. The movie displays some very violent and sexual scenes.
The film was orginally written by Quentin Tarantino (it was the second movie that he wrote) but he couldn't get the script on to the big screen. Some time later after Tarantino had made it with Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, a director called Oliver Stone took the script, had ... ...has a very different style of directing to Tarantino, but he does the script justice (even if Tarantino was not a fan).
The film stars Woody Harrelson, as Mickey Knox, and Juliette Lewis, as Mallory Knox. The two lovers are traumatised by their childhood pasta and embark on a psychotic killing spree. The media turns them into legends and soo everyone knows who they are and they build up quite a fan base. The pair get caught and are brought to justice, ...

ALEXANDER: Director's Cut
Advantages: A must see for all lovers of long historical epics. Disadvantages: Could have shown more detail in the battle scenes.
...film, with Colin Farrell as Alexander and Anthony Hopkins as Ptolemy. In this film there are several Irish actors, including Farrell, so the main accent is of course Irish, which makes a change from the (by now) traditional British accents in film epics.
It would be refreshing if a director had his historical cast adopt an accent authentic to the time and place i.e. in this case Macedonian or Greek. Val Kilmer, who plays Philip, Alexander's father, ... ...action begins with a young Alexander and his early dreams of empire, his close connection with his mother and troublesome relationship with his father. The next phase covers his adulthood and invasion of Persia. There are only two battles in the film, both of which could have been more detailed, especially Alexander's most famous battle at Gaugamela against King Darius. This is a long film (160 mins), so some of that time could have been used to ...

The great king Alexander
Advantages: better to watch only once Disadvantages: many
...based mostly on the book Alexander the Great, written in the 1970s by historian Robin Lane Fox, who gave up his screen credit in return for being allowed to take part in the epic cavalry charge during the film's recreation of the Battle of Gaugamela.
The film proved controversial. It was critically derided upon its release and failed at the American box office, grossing only US$34 million domestically, while costing $155 million to produce. It did ...

An excellent war film
Advantages: Great characters, plenty of action, enjoyable to watch Disadvantages: None
Salvador is one of my favourite films, released in 1986 and directed by Oliver Stone it has near faultless performances from the actors and the filming of the war in El Salvador gives a brutal and moving account of what it was like to be there in 1980.
The film moves along at a fast pace and you won't be able to move from the tv, it also starts off in a relatively fun way as Richard Boyle (James Woods) plays a journalist in California who is down ... ...they head down to El Salvador in a car, drinking, cracking bad jokes and generally having un all the way.
Despite their obvious dodginess you can't help but warm to them and this is an important part of the film which is contrasted by the shocking scenes as they enter war torn El Salvador. The duo then get themselves in to various scrapes but normally manage to pay their way out of trouble, initially a bit of a sleazeball Richard Boyle soon falls ...

Wow!
Advantages: Incredible film making. Disadvantages: A bit wierd.
...film. There is also a brief documentary, but like the film it's a bit twisted.
Natural Born Killers is many things, and a bad film isn't one of them. Not quite a family film, it's definetly worth a purchase for Tarantino fans, or anyone who can appreciate dark humour. ...
