Best of British???
Advantages: good acting and story Disadvantages: Very violent at times
I have seen this film many years ago now but never really followed what was going on as it did not appeal to me. For some reason hubby decided that he wanted to re watch it so out came the DVD and I was expecting another night of boredom but I can say that after sitting and watching it properly I did actually manage to follow the story and did quite enjoy it. .
The film is set in the East End of London where eddy and his gang finally manage to raise ... ...run by Harry Hatchett. Things go wrong for Eddy and his gang when Harry cheats at the game and Eddy and his friends end up owing him half a million pounds. The gang, Soap, Tom, Bacon and Eddie all have to now find the money to pay Harry within one week of they risk looking their digits one by one. .
Eddie and the boys soon discover they are next door to their rival gang and overhear a plan to steel drugs and money which Eddy learns will be enough ...

Bigger minis, smaller willies
Advantages: Good heist, nice little minis Disadvantages: Characters a bit on the girly side for crims
...not a huge fan of the constantly unshaved Jason Statham, his parts in Guy Ritchie's films (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells and Snatch) were definitely the peak of his career, his part in The Bank Job was reasonable but back in 2003 when he was in The Italian Job, the performance was little more than that of a PG tips chimpanzee. Despite always being there, he has very little in the way of important parts and seems to be there merely to make ... ...Bridger (Charlize Theron) who have the most important parts, wannabe son and real life daughter of former criminal master mind John Bridger (Donald Sutherland) whose life was ended by a rat amongst the heist team seek revenge with the help of the rest of the team. Charlie Croker seems a bit of a soft lad but plots the robbery to perfection. The heist both at the beginning and end are filled with excitement and are particularly fun and despite the ...

Crank: What would you do to stay alive?
Advantages: Some fantastic action scenes, very imaginative plot. Disadvantages: Some of the dramatic scenes were more comedy than anything else.
My main reason for purchasing Crank was because Tom said he'd heard good reviews about it from friends and that Crank 2 was coming out in cinemas soon so we should buy it, watch it & then see the 2nd one in the cinema. I purchased our copy for £3.98 from Amazon.co.uk and it's been on offer at this price for several weeks now. Jason Statham stars as Chev Chelios who is a hit man and has made some enemies along the way who kidnap him, beat him half ... ...which requires him to keep his adrenaline levels extremely high to prevent his heart from stopping permanently. This sees him doing various things such as having sex in public, taking drugs, fighting with a group of men, driving at high speed etc. Some of the things that he does are just ridiculous and you wouldn't even think of some of the things that he gets up to. There is lots of action in the film and some comedy moments too but I do think that ...

Have A Good Life. Whats Left Of It
Advantages: Good fast paced action movie, decent martial arts scenes Disadvantages: Could have done with another big name
...did really like the first Transporter movie and so it was really inevitable that I’d be seeing this regardless of my prior concerns about it.
Statham resumes his role from the first movie as a Transporter, a man paid to deliver things from one place to another. Only this time he has moved to Miami and the films starts with him doing a favour for a friend and acting as a chauffer. When the little boy he is driving around becomes the target of a kidnapping ... ...This second instalment of the Transporter series sees Statham team up for the second time with Louis Leterrier. His direction seems to have come on a little from the first movie but with that in mind it still looks pretty good. The fight sequences are very well choreographed and look really well put together. The car and boat chases also look amazing with Leterrier really using some great angles and effects to create a film that looks really good.

Entertaining if you don't think too much!
Advantages: Watching Jason kick some a*ses! Disadvantages: Some of the stunts are a little far fetched?
...and Lock Stock, I thought the Transporter (I and II) would be equally good. Unfortunately, it is far, far from being as good BUT.... if you are a fan of films like XXX and action packed movies with crazy stunts and mad fight scenes, then you should enjoy it. Jason (Frank Martin in the film) did most of the stunts himself, which is quite an achievement in itself.
In my opinion, the first film was way better than the second one, in that the story ... ...a lot less dodgy. The car chases are most enjoyable in both but in the second one, one of the stunts in nothing short of 'appalling'. Frank Martin ends up with a bomb stuck under his car so he simply gets rid of the unwanted bomb by taking off sideways and grazing a pillar which knocks it off. Another pretty dodgy stunt was when he drives off the roof of a building and lands on the building opposite (but not on the roof!) a few levels down as the ...
