...Features: The making of Exit Wounds feature is actually exactly what you would expect from this type of film so expect to see how they do certain stunts and a lot of action from Seagal. Quite enjoyable to watch though which was ok. It wouldn't be a DMX film if it didn't star a music video from him so you have quite a good, R n B/Rap version of 'no sunshine'. What Seagal Does In Vegas, Nearly Destroys It

Advantages: A slightly different Seagal Role, decent rental
Disadvantages: For many its the same old thing

...his feature film debut with Today You Die. For the type of movie it is the direction isn't too bad. Obviously FauntLeRoy won't be making a big splash in the directorial world but he will probably make a number of straight to video releases. The lighting at times is far too dark and the angles work quite well but again there could be massive improvements on both fronts. ...but Danny Lerner seems to have stuck to the standard formula of the buddy crime solving movie. It is a bit like script writing by numbers, take a man who's been crossed, pair him up with a young partner, throw in a blond and just let it all flow from there. While the script writing is quite simple it is still effective and the combination has seen Lerner write a huge number of straight to video release and I'm sure this certainly won't be the last. ...

Advantages: Seagal is surprisingly good.
Disadvantages: An "Eco-Thriller"?!

...thing that humoured me about Fire Down Below was Seagal's elaborate choice of wardrobe. Sporting a number of long, brightly coloured leather trench coats to go with his similarly unique ponytail, made Seagal seem almost iconic. Add to that his whispering voice, bucolic personality and aikido mastery, and he may be credited as a half-decent action hero. Advantages: Segal, Good Mindless fun
