Good, but not great, like the first two films
Advantages: Good action, fast paced, mildly entertaining
Disadvantages: a parody of the first two films, nothing original, poor characters
Rise of the Machines was a disappointing effort, in the context of the first two movies in the franchise which were both excellent.
T3 has its moments, there are some very well put together action sequences, and its a fast paced film in general. Nick Stahl is a great actor, but he was mis-cast as John Connor. Claire Danes as his "sidekick" was equally forgettable. Its virtually impossible to care about these characters. The "Termanatrix" isn't a ...
...T-800 in the first movie. Arnie, God Bless Him, isn't very convincing as the now pensionable Terminator, the character has changed beyond recognition since the first film. The whole thing feels like a rehash, or parody of the first two, there are no new ideas, nothing we haven't seen before, or seen done better in previous instalments.
That said, its reasonable entertaining, and its not a bad film by any means. Worth catching on TV, not worth buying ...

Return of the Dark Knight
Advantages: Tim Burton, Michael Keaton
Disadvantages: Batman and Robin, George Clooney, Nipples on the suit!

Batman is a very dark affair, but watching it, even now, it's not difficult to see why this film became (at the time) one of the top 10 highest grossing films ever. Great film
Advantages: all of it!
Disadvantages: not much

The first Predator movie is an action classic, with it's then pioneering in-your-face, first-person action sequences, setting a standard for action movies of the late 80's. This is also one of Arnie's best movies after the Terminator films(bar number 3), with some great "dialogue" between Arnie's character Dutch and Dillon, played by Carl Weathers - not forgetting Arnie's one-liners like "knock, knock" and "stick around".

Now, Predator 2 is not really a sequal, but a different story invloving the Predator, set in Los Angeles in the then future 1997. The film stands up on its own as a solid action movie, with a great performance from Danny Glover in the lead. It has that infamous scene with the "Alien" skull in the trophy room of the Predator ship, which spawned the Alien Vs Predator comics, and ofcourse the inevitable movie.

Batman develops some colourful tendencies
Advantages: Entertaining throughout
Disadvantages: Not Batman enough for me....
...a big fan of the Batman films in general, so I find it hard to work out whether this is actually a 'good' film or not. Does the fact that I enjoyed the entertainment value of this film mean that it is good? Or that some of the special effects and over-glossy colours are particularly shoddy means it's bad?
I suppose it harkens back to beauty being in the eye of the beholder. If you like this film, then you'll think it's good, if you didn't then it's ...
...and Arnie as Mr Freeze, Batman winds up with a bit more help in the guise of Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone).

Schwarzenegger at his best
Advantages: Action packed
