Who is Jason Bourne
Advantages: the plot, music, camera work, non stop action (Bourne Style) Disadvantages: some people may not like plot jumping from present day to th past.
...I got my hands on the third Bourne movie THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, and being a follower of the first two movies this was a must. I am a great fan of these films that are a bit deep and this is just that. The bourne films are based on true events where by the C.I.A brainwashed people to see if the could make them into assasins in a test they conducted some year ago.
The thing that really strikes me about this film is three things -Matt Damon
-The camera ... ...the way he speaks they way he moves, its all great stuff.
The camera is really dramatic almost like a passer by is filming it its all over the place but at the same time captures everything the only film where this kind of style hasn't anoyed me.
and the music is still the same Jason Bourne theme from the previous two but the ending credits now finish with a modified version of Extreme Ways by Moby.
fans of the previous Bourne will love this and ...

Harsh portrayal of drug-filled Harlem
Advantages: Good all round film Disadvantages: Took a couple of watches for me to like it
...directing on the big screen. New Jack City was released in 1991 with an impressive cast and a dark and moody gang and drugs related theme, which became a familiar concept with Van Peebles' directing. The film has achieved cult status in the States, where it is referenced a number of times in TV shows, mainly using the main character in the film, Nino, played by Wesley Snipes. I personally didn't like the film a whole lot when I first watched, but ... ...the Barnes character, running his new drugs operation under cover of a number of businesses. He calls his gang the Cashg Money Brothers (CMB) and is seemingly untouchable. Along come a group of maverick undercover cops who are aiming to bring him down. The group consists of rebel Stone (Van Peebles), the fast talking Scotty Appleton (Ice T), and the white man thinks he's black Nick Peretti (Judd Nelson). They coerce a recovering drug addict Pookie ...

The Bourne Begins
Advantages: Good action sequences Disadvantages: Can get dull in parts
The Bourne Identity of the first in what has become known as 'The Bourne Trilogy' and was released in 2002. Jason Bourne, we learn, is a trained assassin who is suffering from amnesia after failing to assassinate a target. As the film begins he has no idea who he is or what his occupation is and the majority of the film sees him either trying to track down information that will help him discover his identity or avoiding capture or death at the hands ... ...new found friend Marie. The film has some excellent action scenes and Matt Damon plays Jason Bourne pretty convincingly. You can really imagine him as a trained killer. Previous to this film, I'd only ever really liked Matt Damon as a comedy actor (Dogma, The Ocean's series) but this film really put him in a different light. I dare say he is now a fully fledged action star. ...

Good, but not great, like the first two films
Advantages: Good action, fast paced, mildly entertaining Disadvantages: a parody of the first two films, nothing original, poor characters
Rise of the Machines was a disappointing effort, in the context of the first two movies in the franchise which were both excellent.
T3 has its moments, there are some very well put together action sequences, and its a fast paced film in general. Nick Stahl is a great actor, but he was mis-cast as John Connor. Claire Danes as his "sidekick" was equally forgettable. Its virtually impossible to care about these characters. The "Termanatrix" isn't a ... ...T-800 in the first movie. Arnie, God Bless Him, isn't very convincing as the now pensionable Terminator, the character has changed beyond recognition since the first film. The whole thing feels like a rehash, or parody of the first two, there are no new ideas, nothing we haven't seen before, or seen done better in previous instalments.
That said, its reasonable entertaining, and its not a bad film by any means. Worth catching on TV, not worth buying ...

Return of the Dark Knight
Advantages: Tim Burton, Michael Keaton Disadvantages: Batman and Robin, George Clooney, Nipples on the suit!
...set contains the first 4 Batman films, and the great thing about this box set is that it is cheaper than buying the films individually, and it chronicles the change in the Batman genre, from dark and moody (Burton), to more slapstick and comic-book like (Schumacher).
And so we begin with Batman (1989). This is not an origin story, like Batman Begins, instead, the film picks up with Batman already well established as a masked vigilante, putting the ... ...a bell tower showdown.
Batman is a very dark affair, but watching it, even now, it's not difficult to see why this film became (at the time) one of the top 10 highest grossing films ever. Burton paints a dark, decrepit, devastating Gotham City, whilst Michael Keaton was born to play the dark knight. Jack Nicholson, as usual, steals the film with one of the great super-villain displays, as the demented Joker. Next to Batman Returns, which sees the ...
