Great Action Movie
Advantages: The actors, storyline, length of the movie
Disadvantages: None
Well this has to be one of the best if not the best action movie i have seen, none others compare to it out there. The way the movie is planned out and the story line unfolds is gripping and the director has done a excellent job. There is not a lot of blood in this movie but its rated 18 because of the language and some scences of violence and the story line.
The main characters play their roles superbly its one of Bruce Willis's best performances. ...
...and i couldnt stop watching it. I really enjoyed this and as soon as i saw it i went and bought it on DVD as soon as it was out it is now one of my all time favourites.
If you like action movies then you must watch this as im certain you will enjoy it. ...

Domino: Mean Machine
Advantages: lots of big bangs
Disadvantages: acting not amazing
...based upon the life of Domino Harvey, the english born model turned all american bounty hunter.
As a peron and a character, she is flawed, but you love her all the same. Her bording school manners have long been forgotten in this full throtle film.
If you like Knightley, this will be a surprise, though her 'method' of acting I find the same. Not that I could see Elizabeth Bennet replacing Domino.
Also, its one of those films, in which you catch ...
...Unfortunately, Domino died in the making of the film. She had been on drugs for a long while and though stayed clean for a long while, succumbed to a heart attack.
This film isn't anything too serious though, it is full of explosions and ricocheting gun fire. ...

Get Carter (2000) Review
Advantages: Stallone
Disadvantages: Little Action
...threatens on numerous occasions in Get Carter to seriously kick some arse with all his tough talking and trademark snarl, but there's never really any follow through. Sure, he throws a few punches and fires a couple of shots (as a man in his business should); however, the film, on the whole, prefers to concentrate on Stallone being a good uncle, as if to say the character is really quite compassionate and sensitive beneath his chiselled surface. ...
...time. This, of course, is disappointing to all those are used to seeing Sly kick some serious arse. As far as movies go, Get Carter (2000) is instantly forgettable; and as far as remakes go, it all seems a bit pointless. I'd advise you to stick with the original. ...

More Like "The Calm Before The Storm" Than The Actual Storm!
Advantages: Good sets and some very good actors.
Disadvantages: cheesy main character and too 'kidified' in general.
After reading the novel and loving it, I consequently held a skeptical mind over the making of a full-length film. When I found out the movie was a PG my expectations lowered - but with actors such as Damian Lewis and Ewan McGregor being cast, I contemplated the film being 'O.K.' Did You Enjoy Heaven's Gate? Well Shame On You!
Advantages: A clever look at the same story from two aposing sides
Disadvantages: Dislikeable characters and an overlong film.

Year Of The Dragon is a winner and a failure all at the same time; what is fundamentally an excellent story is badly executed by its Director Michael Cimino. Cimino has a reputation for long drawn out movies that often bomb at the box office Heaven's Gate being a prime example. It's of little surprise that he has been missing from the movie business now for 10 years. The trouble with Year Of The Dragon is that its about 45 minutes too long; ...

In one particular scene Stanley goes to the apartment of his lover Tracy and explains that he feels isolated and alone; however Cimino stretches this scene out for 11 minutes and by the time the scene merges with the next your glad Stanley is alone. Cimino then makes the mistake of spending too little time on the areas that people enjoy i.e. the action scenes, these are over in a flash; no sooner has someone pulled a weapon and it's over with ...
