'You're not dead until I TELL you you're dead!'
Advantages: Curiously enjoyable Disadvantages: Some dodgy acting and editing, too long
...mood dropping after looking through the films on offer, I was perked by the first one I watched: Hitchcock's Speelbound, dealing with the human psyche. This was the second. I had heard of The Wild Geese before, but had never really bothered to find out much about it. As it was a free DVD from the paper, there are no extras on it at all. In fact, all you get is the film, and putting the disc in the DVD player, the film started immediately without ... ...sequence of Joan Armatrading singing the title theme tune as the outline of Africa appears on an otherwise black screen. For some reason, it set me in the mood and I was looking forward to watching the film. We get our first glimpse of Richard Burton early on, as we see him approached at a train station covertly by a British government operative. The scene is set in London, and it is made very clear from the start that Burton's character, Colonel ...

Another Day, Another Lotus!
Advantages: Moore plays the older Bond. Disadvantages: Worst soundtrack in the series!!!
...felt that it was time for Bond to go back to his roots and with that the character was bought straight back down to Earth. For Your Eyes Only was released in the summer of 1981, the film itself is a decent thriller with the plot based on a more credible and also far more believable scenario than other films, there is no world domination or secret base for Bond to deal with at all. This is just a plain and simple espionage thriller and more akin to ... ...used an ATAC launch decoder for the launching of Polaris missiles. The Russians are fully aware of what the St Georges actually was and are somewhat interested in obtaining this device for themselves. 007 is sent to retrieve the ATAC and prevent the Russians from using the device at all costs, if ATAC gets into the wrong hands then British Submarines could be ordered to launch missiles at any given target. This is totally a Fleming style plot, Bond ...

For Everyone's Eyes, Actually!
Advantages: Return to focus on Bond's character and the plot Disadvantages: Less artistic camera work
...takes the role of Bond for the 5th time, in For Your Eyes Only. The film is a compilation of two of Fleming's books: For Your Eyes Only and Risico.
The Plot
Sir Timothy Havelock is in search of the St Georges, the boat containing the Automatic Targeting and Attack Co-ordinator (ATAC), the device used by the Royal Navy to strategise their fleets. When Havelock is killed, Bond is forced to team up with Havelock's daughter, Melina, in search of the ... ...rather than the scenery.
For Your Eyes Only is noteworthy for its opening sequence, involving Blofeld, Bond's nemesis. There were long-standing disputes between writers for the rights to Thunderball, with Kevin McClory eventually winning out, and so Broccoli and his Bond franchise chose to show that Blofeld was not so important, thus he is not even credited in the film. It is a shame to think that such a wonderful series such as the Bond films is ...

Takes a giant leap for mankind
Advantages: Roger Moores biggest adventure as Bond Disadvantages: Made in 1979, looks dated in parts
...that had not been used, Moonraker seemed the most appropriate for the time.
---The Source---
The title comes from Ian Flemings’ third Bond novel. Moonraker was released in April 1955. In the story Bond is asked, as a personal favour to M, to expose a member of the exclusive gentlemen's club called Blades, this person is suspected of cheating at cards. The man’s name is Hugo Drax; he is the Head of Britain's Moonraker rocket program. The stakes ... ...the end of the Inside Moonraker documentary there are a number of bloopers shown, which are quite rare. It also discusses the fact that this was the first time that a Bond production was based outside of Pinewood Studios; in fact this film was made mainly in France. The documentary shows what problems were faced with a different cultural way of working, and what was done to resolve the issues and move on. The documentaries that go behind the scenes ...

That Bond is such a clown!!!
Advantages: More good directing work Disadvantages: Moore not as enthusiastic
...Bond. This was released while Octopussy was still at the box office, and was made due to a rights dispute over Thunderball. Never Sayh Never Again is intended as a remake of Thunderball, and stars Connery as James Bond once more. MGM have since bought the name 'James Bond', thus preventing a similar thing happening again.
Conclusion
Another well made Bond film, although Roger Moore is looking tired of Bond and there is a lot of controversy surrounding ...
