Advantages: Its Rambo!
Disadvantages: Shows its age

Smacks of overkill, going to the extreme. The film starts all calm and mellow with Rambo going to visit one of his former Army Buddies only to discover he'd died of cancer from Agent Orange. So the film is getting it's political messages in early. Rambo is prevented entering the town by Sheriff Teasle (does he even legally have the right to deny him entry just based on his appearance? So much for Land Of The Free.) and is driven to the other side ...
...Rambo walking back into town and starts exceeding his authority right there, asking him for id, grabbing him and then claiming assault (untrue, he grabbed Rambo 1st) and arresting him on 3 trumped up charges. The vagrancy charge is so trumped up its unreal, the assault charge is a pure fairy tale as it never happened. Advantages: Cheap to buy on video and DVD
Disadvantages: A little lame in places

...stars as LA cop Ray Tango while Kurt Russell is Gabe Cash, his hated partner. The two get framed for a crime they didn't do, by a criminal who wants them out of the way. They end up in prison together and then break out to get the man who put them there. It's an unlikely but fun scenario. There are some violent scenes but that's typical of an action film like this. Terri Hatcher co-stars as Tango's sister and of course, there's a touch of romance ...
...it up as an international criminal. The acting isn't the greatest in the world and the plot and general background are predictable but it's still a fun movie. There are some great one-liners as well, especially from a cantankerous Sylvester Stallone. The two main characters are likeable and the film doesn't take itself too seriously. ...his earlier Rocky Balboa. However, Rambo IV is still a ridiculously exciting, if politically disgusting, high-octane, uber-violent romp. Easily the equal of many of the fiercest horror films of recent times in terms of sheer gore and depravity - necks are ripped open, children are flung left and right, heads explode, innards spill to the dirt - the picture is considerably harsher than its predecessors.
