Sleak, stylish and breathtaking is what you come to expect from a John Woo movie, Mission Impossible 2 does not disappoint. Along with the acting talents of Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt) and the beauty of which is Tandy Newton (Nyah Nordoff-Hall) the movie delivers a fast paced action adventure not to be missed that rivals any James Bond movie to date.

Advantages: Pretty Funny film
Disadvantages: Typical black meets white comedy
I read the other reviews for this film and have to say i think they were a bit harsh. Sure this film is a little predictable but if your watching it for the comedy rather than the action packed main plot you will enjoy it. It features Antony Hopkins who played hanible lecter and his acting is as good as ever. Advantages: A must see for all lovers of long historical epics.
Disadvantages: Could have shown more detail in the battle scenes.
...film, with Colin Farrell as Alexander and Anthony Hopkins as Ptolemy. In this film there are several Irish actors, including Farrell, so the main accent is of course Irish, which makes a change from the (by now) traditional British accents in film epics.
It would be refreshing if a director had his historical cast adopt an accent authentic to the time and place i.e. in this case Macedonian or Greek. Val Kilmer, who plays Philip, Alexander's father, ...

When Eight Bells Toll
Advantages: Anthony Hopkins does well in his role
Disadvantages: Not as Good as the Book
One of a number of films adapted from MacLean's books, but is not up to the same standard of films as the Guns of Navarone or Where Eagles Dare, I would rate it alongside Puppet on a Chain or Caravan to Vaccares.
This is an enjoyable film that has dated reasonably well, and despite what would appear to be a modest budget, does bring together some of the best British actors. Anthony Hopkins does well in his role as the non-Bondesque British spy, ...
...Hawkins (Sir Anthony Skouras) and Robert Morley (Uncle Arthur) in their roles. MacLean in writing the screenplay keeps close to the original storyline, with Calvert on the hunt for gold bullion robbers in the Irish Sea.
