Modern classic.

Advantages: Rousing action sequences, excellent acting, beautiful score, fast paced, gorgeous cineamtography.
Disadvantages: Graphic violence may put some off.

...to old school swords-and-sandals flicks. Gladiator is one of those rare films where all the relevant boxes are ticked: riveting action sequences, strong lead, slimy villain, wonderful supporting cast, classy period detail, gorgeous cinematography, perfect SFX, moving score and just a downright thrilling tale of a man wronged. Russell Crowe is tremendous in the role and it has rightfully made him one of cinema's biggest stars and the late Richard ...
...Ridley Scott is a master of visuals and here was the perfect opportunity in recreating a new (old) world - much in the way he does with Blade Runner he fills the screen with details that demand repeat viewings. Meanwhile the script is a surprisingly moving tale which makes the revenge all the more sweet. A modern classic. ...

Roadhouse DVD

Advantages: Action Packed
Disadvantages: Not For Children

Roadhouse James Dalton, (played by Patrick Swayze) Brad Wesley, (played by Ben Gazzara) Elizabeth Clay, (played by Kelly Lynch) Wade Garrett, (played by Sam Elliot) It has been a long time since I have seen this film but remember it well. Patrick Swayze plays Dalton, and he runs a club. One night someone asks him if he is interested in working for him doing the same job that he is doing now but for a lot more money, Dalton thinks for a moment ...
...flight to his club called the "Double Duche" but he refuses to fly and drives there on his own. Having been a bouncer at other clubs he no's what he is letting himself in for and get prepared for the worsed by changing her car to a banger and get a supply of tyres, as he is about the sack some of the staff there. Before he does anything he props himself up at the end of the bar for a while and just watches and does nothing at all but watch. There ...

Striking Distance

Advantages: A great Bruce willis film a lot of action

This is one of bruce willis's best films and i am a Bruce Willis fan i think he is a great actor. A few of the actors in this film are: Bruce Willis ( Die Hard films) Sarah Jessica Parker ( Sex in the city) Dennis Farina ( Out of site) John Mahoney (Moonstruck, TVs Frasier) This film is about a cop called Tommy played by Bruce Willis, who after his father dies says that a cop killed his father and is on a mission to find this cop who killed ...

When men were men

Advantages: Patrick Swayze rips someones throat out with his bare hands
Disadvantages: The sequel is bad, bad, bad

Okay, I thought to myself this. The first movie on its own costs pretty much the same as both movies put together so why not get 2 for the price of 1? Anyone would think the same. Let me talk about the first film, after all, this is the reason why I purchased this delightful gem of a double pack. Patrick Swayze, the best damn bouncer in the business. He goes to a small town in the country that is run by a wannabe mafia boss who terrorises the local ...
...not least, the owner of the club that Swayze has been hired to clean up. Let's clear one thing up straight away, this film is ridiculous. It's so ridiculous that it's good. To give you a taste of this, bouncers are treated like movie stars. Everyone knows who Swayze's character is as if he has appeared in the glossy celeb mags every other day. He also rips someones throat out with his bare hands. Apart from all that, I still enjoy watching this ...

Bruce Can Be Bad

Advantages: Collects three titles that you should never watch in one handy package
Disadvantages: Watching these movies could be damaging for your credibility

I'm a huge Bruce Willis fan. I was hooked from the pilot of Moonlighting ("Hmm, the plot thinnens.") and I must have seen everything he's ever done since. I saw Die Hard in the cinema three times. Three times. I've never seen any movie three times in the cinema. I only saw Octopussy twice so I could snog my new girlfriend. I love Bruce in action films and I love it when he's actually acting. I like In Country and Mortal Thoughts and I thought he ...
...saying is that I love Bruce Willis. And I am telling you that this collection of three Bruce Willis movies from the mid 90s are as unwatchable as any crap that's ever made it into theatres. Chronologically speaking, Striking Distance came first in 1993. Bruce is a cop haunted by serial killings from earlier in his career. He is demoted to the police boat and paired with Sarah Jessica Parker before her SATC clout allowed her to avoid trash like this. ...
