The British "Bad Boys"
Advantages: Good cast, good story, funny Disadvantages: May not appeal to everyone.
...rental list on Lovefilm was Hot Fuzz. This was one of my husband's choices so I sat down not knowing what to expect at all. I thought by the name it was some American action film however I was surprised to find that it was in fact a British comedy. It is made by the same people who made "Shaun of the Dead" although I can't really compare the two as I haven't seen that film. The main character in the film is Simon Pegg who plays Nicholas Angel a successful ... ...work start to make the rest of the police force look bad so they transfer him up to the sleepy village of Sandford. Angel immediately gets the villagers backs up by emptying the pub of all the underage drinkers (and so losing the pub owner a lot of custom) and then ends up arresting a fellow police officer for drunk driving! As Angel begins work in the village he discovers that there are quite a lot of mysterious goings on and a bit too many so called ...

Will you be my hero Hancock?
Advantages: Willl Smith is good, funny in parts Disadvantages: Not best story ever
...it a go. Hancock is a story about a superhero called Hancock (Will Smith). Hancock isn't your normal superhero though. He drinks, he is lazy, he tends to break things a lot and no-one seems to like him much. We see him in the beginning of the film lying on a bench, drunk looking a bit like someone who is homeless. He has to be woken up by a child to show him that there is a high speed police chase going on. Hancock goes to help but as usual seems ... ...the car. Just in time Hancock flies in and tips the car up throwing it on to the cards queued behind whilst stopping the train with his body. The people are still annoyed as Hancock has thrown the car on theirs, causing a lot of damage as usual. One man appreciates his gesture though and that is Ray. Hancock flies the car back to Rays house where he meets Rays wife Mary (Charlize Theron) and son Aaron (Jae Head). Ray invites Hancock in for dinner ...

Hellboy Review
Advantages: Great characters, engaging storyline Disadvantages: Probably a bit boring if you don't like these types of films
Hellboy is another foray into the genre of comic book films, hold on though, this one is actually quite good. Very good in fact.
Ron Perlman plays Hellboy, a demon summoned by the Nazis during the final days of WWII. The Allies raid the camp where the ceremony is taking place and find what the Nazis thought would bring about the end of the world. Joining the Allied forces, Hellboy eventually grows to adulthood, serving the cause of good rather than ... ...casting at its very best. Hellboy is aided by Abe Sapien, a fellow 'freak' who can only be described as half man, half fish, and Liz Sherman, a girl who can manipulate fire. All these actors have great chemistry together, which is important as it's the backbone of the story. They play off each other well and bring a lot of depth to their roles.
Guillermo Del Toro is a master of taking you away from this world and completely immersing you in his ...

Who Wants to Live Forever?
Advantages: Excellent story and acting, amazing soundtrack Disadvantages: Saw a wire in one of the end scenes!
I have seen bits of this film over the years and from what I saw it looked quite complicated to follow as it goes from the 1980’s back to the 16 century and it looked quite confusing but after sitting and watching it all in one go I found it was the opposite and I did actually enjoy the story.
Connor MacLeod was born in 1518 in the highland and when his village goes to battle he comes up against The Krugan, he means nothing to Connor but the Krugan ... ...that there must be only one. Back in the present, 1985, Connor is watching a wrestling match when he suddenly gets up to leave and whilst walking across the car park he comes face to face with a man who tried to decapitate him, Connor reveals his sword and the fight ends up with the other man being decapitated. We then move back to the 16th Century where Connor receives a visit from Juan, played by Sean Connery, who tells him that he is Immortal ...

Review Of The Hulk Movie We Enjoy/Hate
Advantages: some action to enjoy! interesting start to the film Disadvantages: a bit too long
...from Universal was that the Hulk should battle terrorists but France had disliked it.
Who was in the film?
Eric Bana as Dr Bruce Banner/Hulk
Jennifer Connelly as Betty Ross
Cara Buono as Mrs Krenzler
Nick Nolte as David Banner
Celia Weston as Edith Banner
Sam Elliot as General Thaddeus
Josh Lucas as Major Glenn Talbot
What you liked/disliked about it?
While I was watching the beginning of the movie to know if it would entertain me, I found ... ...really good scientist and the mutant DNA had passed onto his son Bruce. I thought a little about what the mutant DNA might do and I was curious until I saw the results which came before me.
I had also enjoyed the moment when Bruce was turning into a monster because it was interesting to know what was happening to him. I can describe the moment as scary.
The movie had some action throughout as well which kept me on my seat for a long time!
However, ...
