Modern classic.
Advantages: Rousing action sequences, excellent acting, beautiful score, fast paced, gorgeous cineamtography. Disadvantages: Graphic violence may put some off.
...to old school swords-and-sandals flicks. Gladiator is one of those rare films where all the relevant boxes are ticked: riveting action sequences, strong lead, slimy villain, wonderful supporting cast, classy period detail, gorgeous cinematography, perfect SFX, moving score and just a downright thrilling tale of a man wronged. Russell Crowe is tremendous in the role and it has rightfully made him one of cinema's biggest stars and the late Richard ... ...Ridley Scott is a master of visuals and here was the perfect opportunity in recreating a new (old) world - much in the way he does with Blade Runner he fills the screen with details that demand repeat viewings. Meanwhile the script is a surprisingly moving tale which makes the revenge all the more sweet. A modern classic. ...

It has been a long time since I have seen this film but remember it well.
Patrick Swayze plays Dalton, and he runs a club.
One night someone asks him if he is interested in working for him doing the same job that he is doing now but for a lot more money, Dalton thinks for a moment ... ...flight to his club called the "Double Duche" but he refuses to fly and drives there on his own.

Shark Factor
Advantages: good shark film Disadvantages: makes you jump
...Well this is the exception. Deep blue sea is the story of a marine observation reasearch facility in the middle of the ocean and takes place over the weekend. The story focuses on one of the doctors who is trying to find a cure for alziehmers disease using shark genes but instead she creates smart sharks that are trying to escape the facility. I really like this because I'm not really scared of sharks but saying that i've not been aquainted with ...

Die Hard with tumbleweed - literally gave me nightmares
Advantages: Stylish, ultimately moral Disadvantages: Make sure the kids are asleep before watching
I'm feeling quite smug because it had occurred to me that this isn't a gangster movie. John Smith (Bruce Willis) arrives like a time-traveller to what is clearly the 19th century wild west, but with prohibition. Then reading the review by jpegington I found out this is indeed a remake of a Clint Eastwood movie. It also manages to be a remake of Die Hard, because once again we have Willis as a loner fighting back against the odds, with the same near ... ...violent film that more than lives up to its 18 rating. Not because the violence is gory, but because it is unrelenting. I honestly did have nightmares after viewing this. On the other hand like many uber violent movies it could be argued that this is a very moral film because it underlines the pointlessness of it all. Willis as so often surprisingly good. But I'll have to disagree with others about Walken who I felt was sleep walking this one. Same ...
