Dark Knight is brilliant, but ever so slightly too long

Advantages: Acting, Special Effects, Story
Disadvantages: Little too long in my opinion

Firstly, let me say that The Dark Knight is a brilliant film. I can't really criticize any aspects of it, other than the length. It lasts for well over 2 hours, which can be too much for some people. However, those that do manage to last the distance are in for a treat. The film is not only enjoyable, but is also very clever and intricate in parts. Every single actor or actress gave great performances, particularly Heath Ledger as the Joker and Christian ...
...explosions being particularly pleasing on the eye. The storyline is both exciting and tense, with several unexpected twists and turns throughout. All in all, The Dark Knight is a great film and only misses out on 5 stars because of the fact that some people may start to switch off because of the running time of over 2 hours. ...

Batman Begins... Very slowly.

Advantages: Good stunts, good love interest, nice performance from Bale
Disadvantages: Non-scary villain, slow to start.

...that we find out how Batman became Batman, we see why he chose a life of crime and how he learnt all his fighting skills. There is then The Scarecrow terrorizing Gotham and Batman in true super-hero form has to stop his evil plan. The movie doesn't feel like it's started until nearly an hour in, though I did like that it covered Batman's earlier life. It was just a pity that it was so slow, and to be honest, a bit boring. The high point of the earlier ...
...Ninja style training with a group of masked men all moving in unison, trying to find his master to prove he'd finished. The villain wasn't even close to the joker in scare/amusement. The sack over his head thing wasn't really scary, just a bit ugly, and I know the point was that the chemicals made it scary, but it's only a mask in the end. The 'madness' carried on into the next film, however, which was good. Pity that the love interest didn't. I ...

Robin Hood mixes comedy, romance and action

Advantages: Great stuff
Disadvantages: A few errors, but nothing major

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is the 1991 take on the legend of Robin Hood, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. This film was hailed as one of the biggest films of the 1990s, especially by women (!) and features an all star cast and a soundtrack including Bryan Adams' 'Everything I do' which spent about a million weeks at number 1 in the charts. Director Kevin Reynolds gives us a rollicking feature length display of sword fighting, comedy, ...
...a damn good film. Robin of Locksley (Kevin Costner) has been away fighting in the Crusades. Escaping with a Moor named Azeem (Morgan Freeman) he heads back to his native England after many years to see his father and live out the rest of his life in peace. Not so much luck! In the King's absence, his evil brother John has taken the throne and rules with a selfish and hard code, and the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) seems to be calling the ...

Release the hound!!!

Advantages: An excellent idea and extremely well pulled off
Disadvantages: None

Another cracking Jet Li performance. I'm sorry but a lot of my friends do not like Jet Li and I personally think that he is fantastic especially when his predecessor was Bruce Lee. Hard footsteps to follow. Jet teamed up with Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins in this intense action thriller. I must start by saying that I have never ever seen any of this directors movies but now that I have seen this one I will definitely be looking out for some more ...
...of an excellent action flick witch was shot in a very stylish way. Well done that man. Bob Hoskins plays character that the would not normally play giving his short and fat frame. He plays a gangster in Glasgow. I know it seems a bit surreal but this man pulls it off to a T. He is like a jack Russel, Small but can bark very loud. He used to see a chinese prostitute and unfortunately for her she passes away by one means or another if you know what ...
