Worth a Fly-By
Advantages: A reasonable Sunday afternoon Boy's Own Adventure
Disadvantages: It's very predictable and the effects aren't great.

Great Buy For Fans Of The Series
Advantages: Look fabulous in HD, Lots of action
Disadvantages: Story wasn't true to comic book series, Lack of exclusive HD content
Spider-man 3 is a fun movie but not as enjoyable as the previous 2. I would recommend this to Blu-Ray owners and fans of the series.
Peter Parker encounters 3 new enemies in this movie; The Sandman, The New Goblin and Venom. All three of them have their own grudge with Peter. Also the simbiot makes an appearance in the movie, a small substence that comes from space and finds a way to embed itself with peter making him more faster, stronger and evil. ...
...a sequal or not, like Spider-man 2 where Harry encounters his fathers goblin suit.
On Blu-Ray the movie looks brilliant. Sony put a lot of effort on making this mavie look good as its a launch movie for its Blu-Ray line-up. A lot of special features have been added making this a 2 disc collection. With features like a 2 hour making of and audio commentary throughout the movie. However theres no exclusive Blu-Ray features to make this stand out from ...

Spider, The Trilogy... Light-hearted fun
Advantages: Kid friendly, easy top watch, likable hero
Disadvantages: 20 minutes of the third film are BAD. Not very scary.
This series is less dark than many of the other comic book movies. The sort of thing you don't even hesitate to let your kids watch. My 8 year old sister loves these movies. The first film shows the making of spiderman, with the Green Goblin as his main enemy. It follows the comic books pretty closely and Kirsten Dunst is a lovely MJ. Maguire is good as spiderman because he's not got the cool factor, which suits the character. The biggest difference ...
...second film has Dr Octopus as the villain, leading to a lot of nice stunts using those mechanical arms to climb buildings and so forth. The third film has a 20 minute period in the middle with 'evil spider man' that is just wrong, appalling and should be deleted. AMAZING!!!
Advantages: Special Features, The Movies are great.
Disadvantages: The effects on the second movie leave a little to be desired.
This is a great gift for a friend or someone you know. The 1st installment is maybe the second best of all the films. It has everything needed in an action/superhero movie and the special features are brilliant. The 2nd movie is still good but not the best of the trilogy, the effects are good but not great and the story is not as good as others. My Spidey sense is tingling
Advantages: gripping and enjoyable plot from start to finish
Disadvantages: not much at all, SFX could of been better.
In one word, Sublime.
Sam Raimi has done an excellent job on transferring the comic Peter Parker/Spider-man onto the silver screen. He has manged to capture the clumsy personality of Peter and the style of Spidey. This is due, in part to Tobey Maguire's performance, you could be fooled to believe Stan Lee based Peter on Tobey. Willem Dafoe plays an excellent part as the Green goblin, Kirsten Dunst doesn't quite get the edginess of Mary Jane, but ...
