Full Throttle, it certainly is!
Advantages: Funny, entertaining Disadvantages: Lots of sexual innuedno
Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle is the second in the Charlie’s Angels films. For anyone who doesn’t know, Charlie’s Angels are 3 women, Natalie, Dylan and Alex (played by Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu) who work undercover for the elusive Charlie. The films are based on the TV series from the 70’s (I think), and neither the films nor the series reveal Charlie’s face, all communication is done via a telephone speaker. The Plot This film ... ...to rescue US Marshal Ray Carter (Robert Patrick) who has been kidnapped and his ring stolen. Shortly after he is rescued, a second man is attacked and his ring is also stolen (I can’t remember the name, but he was played by Bruce Willis). The rest of the film follows the Angels on their mission to recover the two rings. The rings separately are no use to anyone, but together they form an encoded file detailing all the people who have been placed ...

The man behind the boxing gloves
Advantages: Excellent performance by Will Smith, compelling viewing Disadvantages: Boxing fans won't like the lack of boxing
Born Cassius Clay, Muhammad Ali converted to Islam during the course of his boxing career, and turned his back on his Christian background and slave name. This was to colour much of his life outside of boxing; he divorced his first wife, for example, because although she converted to Islam herself, she refused to dress appropriately. He claimed that fighting in the Vietnam war was against his religious beliefs, leading to all sorts of trouble, including ... ...insignificant compared to that of Ali - the man himself was larger than life and Will Smith took that on board and eclipsed everyone else in the film. I do, however, have to briefly mention Jon Voight, who plays Howard Cosell, a journalist who develops a love/hate relationship with Ali - his chemistry with Will Smith is fantastic and together, they add some much needed humour to the film. I have already mentioned my dislike of boxing. I think one ...

Vincent Bang Go
Advantages: The back drop of LA at its best at night-time and dialogue scripts Disadvantages: 120 minutes flew by
...artistic license was at stake. Collateral was aptly used as a title and it can be diagnosed in other realms of daily life. I saw other meanings such as, the waste of life in war, the waste of life in work. By changing the pattern of the morose lifestyle, better patterns can occur. This is what Mann systematically asked questions about. – Mann’s violent film ‘Collateral’ distorts values in this epic. He focuses on Max; swift snap-shots of character ... ...-- -- Collateral derived from Mann’s earlier picture (Heat 1995) that plays with two extremes ‘Good Cop’, ‘Bad Cop’. Mann’s 2004 picture enrolls the same analogies. When two diverse characters are locked within the same time zone, with completely different agendas one night, both doing their job, except one is an assassin. I’ve only five stops to make, calling in at friends; quotes Vincent. Max still in dream-world after having dropped off sexy Annie ...

Leave The Classics Alone
Advantages: None I can think of. Disadvantages: Dismal acting. Poor plot. Avoid this dreadful movie remake of a classic TV series
...drug barons who are flooding Miami with all sorts of naughty substances. (Some things never change!) You have the obligatory Ferraris, speed boats and designer clothes that so enhanced the original TV series, but somehow in the movie it simply doesn't seem to come together. You even have the song "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins that was used to great effect in an episode of the TV show, but this time it is a cover version by a Miami rock band ... ...in order to ensure my Miami Vice collection is complete, but when I want a fix of Crockett and Tubbs it's not this film I reach for but the absolutely marvellous complete box set of the original TV series. Michael Mann somehow lost his way with this movie, and it's not one that I could in any way recommend. If you still insist in watching it then the DVD can be bought for buttons over the Web. ********** © KenJ April 2009 ********** ...

Not Stealthy enough, gets noticed for all the wrong reasons
Advantages: Great visuals Disadvantages: Too many stpuid mistakes
This gets a 3/10 for the visuals only, the plot holes are dire. Basically this film takes ideas from 2001: A Space Odyssey, Short Circuit , Flight Of The Navigator & Firefox. If it looks like you've seen it before, it's because you have, at least twice and they all did it much better than this movie. Utter garbage, badly thought out with zero realism. Watch it for the visuals only! Basically its the story of how a plane with artificial intelligence ... ...Sounds like it should be great with a ton of action? Wrong! Action yes, but with a lot of basic mistakes that ruin it. 1st mistake, the refueling sequence. Having shot off the refuel probe & coated itself in av-fuel Eddie would have caught fire from its own bullets or it's engines. 2nd mistake, the ejection sequence. She ejected upside down. sorry, that's not gonna happen - ever. 3rd mistake, the ejection sequence again. She's falling at terminal ...
