A rip-roaring action thriller
Review of The Fugitive (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
bigmike33
Advantages: The action never lets up
Disadvantages: None
The Fugitive is probably one of the finest action thrillers ever made, and definately Harrison Ford's best movie. Based on the television series of the same name, the best thing about The Fugitive is that it never lets up the pace, moving along at a thunderous and often breathtaking level. With its quick pacing, rock solid storyline and superb acting this is a great cat and mouse film, with Harrison Ford playing the slipperly fugitive and Tommy Lee ... ...a particularly enjoyable performance as the annoyed and stressed out police officer.
Harrison Ford plays world renowned vascular surgeon Richard Kimble, who is charged with murder after his wife is found dead at home, despite his pleas that a one-armed burglar had in fact committed the crime. While he is being transported on a prison bus an accident occurs, leading to the bus overturning and Kimble escaping into the nearby woods. It is up to US ...

Fugitive
Review of The Fugitive DVD by
shanediablo
Advantages: Harrison Ford at his best.
Disadvantages: Not original.
...from a television series from the 1960\'s which instantly makes it more difficult to stand out because you are well aware that it lacks originality of its own.
Problems aside.. Harrison Ford comes up with a near perfect performance as Dr Kimble, a surgeon wrongly accused of his wifes murder and becoming a rather unlikely fugitive of the law, hotly chased by US Marshal, Samuel Gerard played by Tommy Lee Jones.
This thriller is played out at an exhilirating ...

This film needs a firewall of its own!!
Review of Firewall DVD by
pmcds
Advantages: Familiar storylines, some okay suspense and acting (Paul Bettany)
Disadvantages: Firewall (2006) - disappointing
This heist film comes courtesy of director Richard Loncraine, who directed Paul Bettany in Wimbledon and brings him in as the villain in this 2006 film Firewall.
The Plot
I.T. expert Jack Stanfield is the brains behind many security systems. A family man, he leads a pretty normal existence until his family are kidnapped and held to ransom. Jack must bypass his own security systems and rob a bank he is protecting in order to preserve the safety ... ...the desperate actions of a man for whom family is of the utmost importance.
The Cast and Performances
Harrison Ford is very good at playing distressed characters, with Han Solo and Indiana Jones being prime examples. This time round, although the Jack Stanfield character is distressed, Ford doesn't really pull it off. There is an unconvincing air about his character, and I am not sure whether this is down to the script or the acting. Paul Bettany ...

Excellent Movie
Review of Iron Man DVD by
Classkeeper
Advantages: Stunning visuals
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit long
...by terrorists and manages to escape using a very crude iron suit, and the story goes on from there really. What really sells the movie are the special effects. The suits are superbly developed and look fantastic. This movie is well worth the purchase and will keep you entertained throughout. ...

2012: Is This The Olympic Games?
Review of Death Race DVD by
sghawken
Advantages: Considerably better than the original
Disadvantages: Some muppet will claim it's unbelievable and far fetched
...little reluctant to look at Death Race, it had a couple of bad things going for it; firstly it was a re-make of a 1975 movie called Death Race 2000 which absolutely bored me to tears, and secondly the appearance of the incredibly dull Jason Statham. What made me change my mind I hear you cry? Will it was what in my opinion was the unusual casting of Ian McShane (best known from the long running BBC show Lovejoy). Add to this the fact that it's directed ... ...the reality TV sports show Death Race. In Death Race prisoners must race against each other in a three day, three event race. If a prisoner wins a race five times he is freed, given a full pardon in fact, if he loses, well it's best put that the losers don't get to discover the reality of losing, the only way out of Death Race is first across the finish line, otherwise your bound to be in the morgue.
Frankenstein (David Carradine reprising his role ...
