Daredevil
Advantages: Good stunts, nice visuals
Disadvantages: Simplistic plot.

The back-story was well done and Ben Affleck played the leading role reasonably well. I in particular liked the sets. Things like the lack of colour in his living quarters really made sense, since as a blind man he wouldn't see the colours. There were a few decent action scenes too, and the effects ...
...really very nice. It also sets things up for the next movie 'Elektra', which to be honest was pretty awful. It had a nice satisfying if not happy ending, and the whole film felt polished, which was nice. Not bad, the sort of thing to watch when it's on on ITV. ...

great film swat

This is a film with Colin Farrell and you will not be disappointed with this film. It has everything you need from a film with action in it.
Colin Farrell plays Officer Jim Street who has been demoted in his job as a police officer after a mishap on his last job his partner left but Street decided to stock it out and go for the demotion, until Hondo played by Samuel L Jackson turns up at the station to create a new team for the forces SWAT. ...with various other troublesome people in the police force. Along with Street, are Deke Kay played by LL Cool J, Michael Boxer played by Brian Van Holt, T.J. McCabe played by Josh Charles and Chris Sanchez played by Michelle Rodriguez who all make the grade in Hondo's SWAT team.

a brave attempt to capture the audiences attention
Advantages: good cinematography
Disadvantages: too boring, slow paced, few dialogue
...before any speaking at all. The director has clearly relied on filmography and imagery, the setting, or the few lines that are spoken to tell the story which is where the downfall lies. It is very difficult to keep an audiences attention when you are consistently watching the same barren land and the same people do nothing. You have to be willing to dedicate the two hours of watching a lot of intricate detailing in order to appreciate everything ...

Daredevil, Sexy Superhero Lacks Comic Effect
Advantages: Impressive Cast, Good Outfits and Action Scenes
Disadvantages: Lacklustre Lovestory, Too Few Gadgets

The Daredevil story line however isnt great, as it focuses on a kid who is bullied alot (I cant imagine Affleck being bullied) who is blinded when struck by a vat of chemicals on a construction site where his father formerly worked. He naturally develops super powers to go with his blindness and so decides to use this to avenge his fathers death ( a champion boxer who refused to throw a fight). He is met by some powerful figures ...
...both with their own unexplained superpowers. The settings are suitably bold and gloomy such as the evening cityscapes and gothic cathedrals which are also well used for the excellent action sequences. Farrell in particular steals the film as a particularly vicious skinhead hitman with a bad temper and a deadly throwing arm. Leave The Classics Alone
Advantages: None I can think of.
Disadvantages: Dismal acting. Poor plot. Avoid this dreadful movie remake of a classic TV series
...drug barons who are flooding Miami with all sorts of naughty substances. (Some things never change!) You have the obligatory Ferraris, speed boats and designer clothes that so enhanced the original TV series, but somehow in the movie it simply doesn't seem to come together. You even have the song "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins that was used to great effect in an episode of the TV show, but this time it is a cover version by a Miami rock band ...
...in order to ensure my Miami Vice collection is complete, but when I want a fix of Crockett and Tubbs it's not this film I reach for but the absolutely marvellous complete box set of the original TV series. Michael Mann somehow lost his way with this movie, and it's not one that I could in any way recommend.
