I would also recommend the 2nd and 3rd film as they do not strech out the film or storyline, and are as much fun to watch as the first. A Great Film, Arnie's acting as Quade/Hauser is flawless perfect for the part of someone on the run. This film has everything car chases, women fighting, lots of mindless destruction, explosions, and best of all just the right amount of cheesiness. Played on surround there's a part where a telepath is reading Quade's mind repeatedly saying Open your mind.... sends shivers down the spine.
