Matric dvd box set review
Advantages: loads of bonus features
Disadvantages: none
This is the king of all box sets, its amazing. It has all of the matrix films plus loads of special features. Its not really for anyone who hasnt seen any matrix films yet but if your a fan its totally worth buying. Its great value for money as aswell as getting all the films you get 35 hours of special features. Overall its one of the best box sets I have ever come across and would recomend it to anyone. The Matrix Reloaded: Dissapointing
Advantages: Good music, Some interesting new characters
Disadvantages: Plot too complex, Emotional detachment from characters, Too much vague philosophy
As a big fan of the original I was greatly looking forward to this, however it didn't live up to the hype. My main issue was the story, I could practically hear the plot straining to be deep and profound but this falls flat on its face. The plot, which is entangled in vague philosophy ("Not how, but why"), is unnecessarily confusing and I eventually found myself wondering, does this plot make sense or is it simply that I just don't care? ...add some new interesting characters, the twins spring to mind - however there is very little focus on them in anything other than action sequences. The enigmatic Merovingian I also found very intriguing and they did rightfully focus on him. As a quick sidenote, I didn't give a flying fig about the relationship between Trinity and Neo. I feel the need, the need....to get everyone off the bus!
Advantages: Easy to watch, acting, FX
Disadvantages: Nothing really, perhaps a little dated
If Speed was to be released now, it would be considered a bit behind the times an the special effects would be considered a bit run of the mill. The plot would be average and predictable, and the excitement factor would be softened by the general presentation. However, when it came out in 1994, it was hailed as a huge blockbuster, with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock heading the billing in the middle of a good run on both their careers. And with ...

Speed is available to buy from amazon.co.uk for £4.88. It's well worth giving a go if you catch it on TV or buy the DVD. An easy to watch film that I happily recommend. It's nothing special in many ways, but definitely one I'd be happy to watch whenever it's on. ...

Should have stopped at the first one!
Advantages: Great movie for the first DVD
Disadvantages: The second and third DVD
Seriously, why did we need the last 2 movies? Ever heard of quit while you are ahead? Sure the animation and imaging is groundbreaking, but it fails when the story just seems to drag on until the writers seem tired of doing it over and over and over again. Like I said, Neo sailing in to the sky and Rage Against the Machine firing in to high gear would have been the best way in the world to have ever ended this "trilogy" of computer under-culture ...
