Advantages: fresh approach to bond Disadvantages: not the classic bond attitude
As I was lucky enough to get this movie on blu-ray for free from Sony, I had to watch it in high definition. Truly stunning, awesome quality on a pretty good bond movie.
It has enough action in, and is generally a good movie, however I feel that Sony have placed too much in-movie advertising.. the sony viao laptops, the sony ericsson phones, and the sony blu-ray player and discs.
But if you're into the movie you wont notice that, it doesnt exactly ... ...Daniel Craig plays in beautifully, although he's not quite the same 007 as what I am used to.It's the littel things really, for example when he is asked shaken or stirred... shaken right?... no apparently he doesnt give a damn.
The movie gets straight into action, and then calms down, and then action, and calm and then action... it goes up and down over and over.
But the ending is good and I'll not give away any spoilers.
Now if I didn't get this ...

Golden, Golden, Golden Bond
Advantages: 3 Great Films Disadvantages: Rather expensive RRP on them in comparsion
Golden, Golden, Golden. Undoubtedly 3 of the best Bonds. First of all theres Goldfinger featuring evil arch villain (you guessed it) Goldfinger, has a strange obsession of murdering people by covering them in solid gold paint. Will Goldfinger succeed in his attempt to rob Fort Knox, surely not, but hey, it's Bond... anything can happen. The Second Golden film, this time, is the Man With the Golden Gun. Here new Bond Roger Moore, takes on new villain ... ...uses a Golden Gun. So when Bond receives a bullet with his name on from him, things start to get a bit heated. Will Scaramanga succeed in assassinating Bond, or will he be made to bite the "bullet". The third Golden Bond is Golden Eye, this sees yet another new Bond, Pierce Brosnan, star in his debut film. Things look bad for Bond when his best friend 006 appears to be assassinated. After a massive electromagnetic pulse, is set off, Bind goes in ...

Oh, James, you do pick them!!
Advantages: Robert Carlyle is an amazing villain Disadvantages: Slightly over the top
Glamour is increasing in the Bond productions, with the special effects and gadgetry associated with Bond, the famous Bond girls being portrayed by models or already well known actresses who are also treated as sex symbols, and Bond himself, here played by Pierce Brosnan for the third time. The new wave of the Bond team has by now set itself into a comfortable slot, and has attracted a good following with the style of filming and characterisation. ... ...another world domination plot.
The Plot
James Bond is sent to find the man who ordered the killing of M's friend, Sir Robert King, British oil tycoon. The assassin was under the employ of Renard, a man who had previously survived an assassination atempt by 009, but was left with a bullet in his head, leaving him impervious to pain. Believing King's daughter, Elektra, to be Renard's intended target, Bond is dispatched to protect her and the oil ...

The Irish Bond.
Advantages: All of the Brosnan films in one box with decent extra's. Disadvantages: Product placement gets worse by the last film!!
...after the last Bond film, James Bond returned in Bond 17.
----The Films----
GoldenEye (1995)
This was the first vehicle that Brosnan appeared in and for me this is probably the better out the four films he made. It is moody, dramatic and will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Although in some places it does step up toi the line of unbelievable it does not cross it to the extent that a film like Charlie's Angels did.
The ... ...with the plot revolving around rouge agent 006 who steals the GoldenEye weapon with the intent of wiping out the Bank of England and all computer records in the City Of London. The weapon itself explodes a nuclear bomb in space and uses the electro magnetic pulse to wipe out anything below within a 30 mile radius, effectively eliminating the use of all electrical equipment.
The cast is made up of multi national actors, Sean Bean as 006, Joe Don ...

Tomorrow is just another day for Bond
Advantages: Great modern work all round Disadvantages: Ever so slightly lacks Cubby Broccoli's magic
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) is the 18th Bond film, and the second starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Brosnan's first outing as Bond in Goldeneye in 1995 was a great success following a 6 year gap since Timothy Dalton's Bond in Licence to Kill in1989. Goldeneye bridged the gap following the end of the Cold War and the reduction of Soviet villains for Bond, and paved the way for a more modern Bond dealing with more topical issues, as we see here ... ...Goldeneye. While there was success, Tomorrow Never Dies did not rise straight to the top of the box office chart as it was released on the same day as Titanic - not necessarily an error on anyone's part, for who would have thought anything else could have outsold a Bond film? But it did, even though the total amount taken at the box office was more than Goldeneye.
Bond musical legend John Barry again opted out of adapting music for the film, but ...
