The British "Bad Boys"
Advantages: Good cast, good story, funny Disadvantages: May not appeal to everyone.
...rental list on Lovefilm was Hot Fuzz. This was one of my husband's choices so I sat down not knowing what to expect at all. I thought by the name it was some American action film however I was surprised to find that it was in fact a British comedy. It is made by the same people who made "Shaun of the Dead" although I can't really compare the two as I haven't seen that film. The main character in the film is Simon Pegg who plays Nicholas Angel a successful ... ...work start to make the rest of the police force look bad so they transfer him up to the sleepy village of Sandford. Angel immediately gets the villagers backs up by emptying the pub of all the underage drinkers (and so losing the pub owner a lot of custom) and then ends up arresting a fellow police officer for drunk driving! As Angel begins work in the village he discovers that there are quite a lot of mysterious goings on and a bit too many so called ...

A change in Bond.........
Advantages: Decent action and beautiful scenery Disadvantages: Confusing plot, some dull and dreary acting
The 15th Bond film to be made saw a change in the lead role, with Roger Moore hanging up his boots as the smooth MI6 agent James Bond, and Timothy Dalton taking up the role, for what was to be the first of only two outings for him as Bond.
The Plot
Bond is sent to ensure the safe passage of Koskov, a KGB defector from Austria to England, where he realises that Russian KGB General Pushkin has reinstated the Russian policy of 'smert' spionam', meaning ... ...deeper, is going on.
The Cast and Performances
Timothy Dalton does not really cement his first film as Bond, and although he certainly looks the part, there is something of the charm or suave exterior we have been used to from Connery and Moore, and even Lazenby. Dalton's Bond is much more hard-hitting, run of the mill agent than the smooth talking ladies man with a mean streak.
Maryam d'Abo is very sexy as Russian agent Kara, but her acting leaves ...

Bond quits and shows his true grit!
Advantages: Dalton is refreshing as Bond Disadvantages: Special effects - not traditional Bond
...run as Bond in 1989's Licence to Kill. His portrayal of Bond here is much darker and personal than other Bond films.
The Plot
Following the capture of international drug lord Franz Sanchez on the same day as the wedding of his CIA friend Felix Leiter, James Bond returns to find Sanchez has escaped and has exacted his revenge on Leiter. In a moment of wild anger, Bond resigns his status as a 00 agent, and escapes the custody of his superiors. He ... ...revenge for Leiter and to put the drug lord where he belongs.
The Cast and Performances
Timothy Dalton is refreshing as Bond - much more humane and personal than his predecessors Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moore, who relied more on charm and tongue in cheek comments to boost their charismatic nature. Dalton brings out Bond's anger and personal feelings very well, and performs admirably in the role. Robert Davi is very convincing as ...

This might disagree with some people
Advantages: Plenty of action Disadvantages: Might be too much don't look scenes for some people
This is one of my favourite Bond films and was the first Bond film I ever bought! I think Timothy Dalton was great in it as the rogue agent, although its not everyone's favourite film becuase its more violent than any Bond film as its shows a head explode and man set on fire and also a man that get eaten by a shark. The poor thing about it is the lack of eye candy. The girls aren't exactly Bonds finest! Theres some good music to accomply this but ... ...include the pre title sequence where they chase after a drug barron on the morning of Felix Leiters wedding, under water scenes, casino scenes and the finale I think is great! With just lots of explosions and action. With this being an Ultimate edition it also has lots of bonus material A great action/Bond film! ...

Bond.... With Attitude!
Advantages: Fresh and original. Disadvantages: Far too many characters in the film.
With Roger Moore resigning the part and not returning as 007, the producers had to find their leading man and find him very quickly indeed. The scripts had been written and the locations had been secured to start filming. Step in Shakespearian actor Timothy Dalton. Dalton was a man who had been approached by the producers a number of years earlier as a replacement for Sean Connery; however it was now his time to take the Tuxedo and become Bond Mark ... ...As soon as the gun barrel sequence begins, you realise that this is going to be different straight away; the plot revolves around an assassination attempt in Gibraltar of two Double 0- agents whilst on a training exercise, something that Bond has to deal with in his own unique manner to pursue the assassin. A sequence in which you see Dalton actually do his own stunts without the use of a back screen projection setup being used. After the credits ...
