No Challenge for Sharpe

Advantages: Superbly shot, great casting
Disadvantages: none really!

I have to admit, i was absolutely gutted when this came out. I'd just spent a small fortune on the boxset. On the other hand, I was chuffed to bits, sharpe was back! It'd been a long time since Sean Bean had donned that uniform, and it shows - though it fits in perfectly with the storyline. The storyline is loosely based on the book "Sharpes Fortress" - the last of the Sharpe in India series. In Challenge, Sharpe returns to India as a retired ...
...gets himself involved with the Incompetent Simmerson (the most hated of sharpes enemies!) and ends up posing as a redcoat deserter, to rescue the ailing generals daughter and save the day - though things go terribly wrong when a captured sargeant gives Sharpe and Harper away - and as always with Sharpe, death, mass explosions and screaming charges ensue! Despite the fact that over a decade had passed between waterloo and challenge, Sean Bean and ...

King George commands and we obey

Advantages: Everything - plot, characters, acting, literally everything
Disadvantages: Nothing...if I'm pushed I could possibly say that they are long for single episodes.

...is the first chronological film, Sharpe's Rifles is not the first chronological novel, which would be Sharpe's Tiger when he starts as a private, but the events described in that book are placed much later in the TV show. DETAILS Title: Sharpe's Rifles / Sharpe's Eagle [1993] Date DVD released: 29 April 2002 Runtime: 200 minutes Number of Disks: 2 Format: PAL Director: Tom Clegg Main Actors: Sean Bean, Brian Cox, Daragh O'Malley, Assumpta ...
...period is quite extraordinary. Both Sharpe's Rifles and Sharpe's Eagle are set in 1809, and with both of these two episodes the book and the episode are very similar, with only slight differences. The knowledge of the period is not however only limited to the battles and events, but a very in depth knowledge of how the army in that period worked, and how the weapons were used, including the difference between rifles and muskets which I had never ...

Action Packed and Ready To Go

Advantages: Brilliant storylines
Disadvantages: Not family viewing

When the first series of Ultimate Force burst onto our TV's in 2002 it was by far my favourite TV show and even now after watching the series numerous times over it still doesn't fail to deliver. The series is based on an SAS troop (Red Troop) and follows their trials and tribulations as they undertake sometimes perilous missions. The first episode begins with Red Troop taking on board two new team member; Jamie Dow and Alex Leonard. It is through ...
...the remainder of the troops and begin to experience life in the SAS. The rest of the troop is as follows: Staff Sergeant Henno Garvie, experienced and determined, Pete Twamley, a Scottish explosives engineer who's served with Henno for years, Ricky Mann, all round expert soldier, Jem Poynton a crack shot sniper, sometimes arrogant but always on target and Sam Leonard the son of the parents who adopted Alex when he was young. The team is completed ...

Disadvantages: a bit low budget looking in bits, rubbish extra on dvd

...War (during the Napoleonic War). Sharpe's regiment is hard pressed for men and due to some unknown corruption in the South Essex's 2nd Battalion no reinforcments are available and the South Essex is to be disbanded! ...WHSmith. ***CRANK 2*** Crank 2: High Voltage was released this year and contains Jason Statham again. Chelio’s tears through the town in search for the Chinese criminal who has possession of his heart. Amy Smart, Dwight Yoakham, and Efren Ramirez revisit their roles from the original film. ***OVERALL OPINION*** I think Jason Statham is a fantastic actor anyway and I have to say that I loved this film.
