"It's all in the reflexes!"
Review of Big Trouble In Little China DVD by clownfoot

Advantages: Superior action movie, cracking dialogue, excellent direction and a sublime performance from Kurt Russell
Disadvantages: Might be a little to 80's for some

...films and delightful gems comes Big Trouble in Little China - probably the best of the lot! Kurt Russell (The Thing, Escape from New York) stars as Jack Burton, a wisecracking loud-mouthed truck driver, high on listening to his own voice, low on brain cells, who thinks he knows quite a bit, but in fact knows very little. After his friend Wang Chi's (David Dunn) fiancee is kidnapped by the Lords of Death, so she can fufill the requirements of removing ...
...simply don't make anymore. Big Trouble in Little China is a unique little movie, possibly misunderstood in its own time (resulting in it being a box office flop) but something well worth investigating amongst the current myriad of pointless sequel making and overblown CGI fests. In the manliness and stupidity of Jack Burton, the quirky characterisations throughout (in particular the three storms and Egg Chen) and a genuinly interesting, albeit ... Read review

A Must Collect!
Review of The Terminator (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by Dachi101

Advantages: Value, Great story, Action/Suspense
Disadvantages: Not for todays CGI/Special effects fans

The Terminator was The film release of the Eighties! Not many movies come close in matching The Terminators style. I remembering watching this in my early teens after a year or so of being released and it completely had me hooked to the way this film was made. Concept wise it was something that had been tried before but nothing was as polished as this. The story unfolds at a perfect pace and you are never allowed to get bored or drift away from the ... The making of Rambo
Review of Rambo - First Blood Part 2 DVD by blackhawk1984

Advantages: Nice plot, good action sequences
Disadvantages: Acting skills of Sylvester Stallone are not up to the mark

This movie makes Rambo as the person , all of us are familiar with. He is a veteran of the Vietnam war. Due to certain circumstances he is locked up in a prison . Rambo manages to break out of the prison. The police are on his trail, and he escapes to the jungle. He displays supreme skills in outsmarting the police. Rambo also displays great survival skills during his stay in the forest. The action sequences are handled very well. It is a relatively ... Read review

fast and furious
Review of The Fast And The Furious DVD by jo_field26

Advantages: paul walker
Disadvantages: n.a

...you also have Vin Diesel. The film has great special effects and not that I am a huge car fan but the cars are great too. Dom played by Vin Diesel and his gang all have great cars and at night they like to show them off and race against others, when one night Brian played by Paul Walker wants to race, he does not have the money to, but offers his car if he loses. Brian looks like he is going to win, but at the last minute is beaten by Dom. Brian ...
...a gang driving fast cars. The FBI suspects that the robbers are involved in the street-racing. As it unfolds Brian is not just a street racer he is a FBI Agent undercover, which I must say I never saw coming and he joins Dom's gang undercover. Brian them has to go few a trials and competes in a few more races, whist all along trying to find out who is responsible for the thefts. In the end Brian finds out that it is Dom and his gang that are involved ... Read review

Action Packed and Ready To Go
Review of Ultimate Force - Series 1 - Episodes 1 To 6 (Wide Screen) by MI9to5

Advantages: Brilliant storylines
Disadvantages: Not family viewing

When the first series of Ultimate Force burst onto our TV's in 2002 it was by far my favourite TV show and even now after watching the series numerous times over it still doesn't fail to deliver. The series is based on an SAS troop (Red Troop) and follows their trials and tribulations as they undertake sometimes perilous missions. The first episode begins with Red Troop taking on board two new team member; Jamie Dow and Alex Leonard. It is through ...
...the remainder of the troops and begin to experience life in the SAS. The rest of the troop is as follows: Staff Sergeant Henno Garvie, experienced and determined, Pete Twamley, a Scottish explosives engineer who's served with Henno for years, Ricky Mann, all round expert soldier, Jem Poynton a crack shot sniper, sometimes arrogant but always on target and Sam Leonard the son of the parents who adopted Alex when he was young. The team is completed ... Read review
