Tom Kreffer
Review of Batman (Movie Box Set) by kreff1110

Advantages: Tim Burton's films
Disadvantages: nipples....................

...good package, all the old Batman films in one chunky box set that should have the fans foaming at the mouth. It has both Tim Burtons darker take on the Dark knight as well as Shumacher’s take on the Bat. As far as the films go, the first two are very good films. Burton, as with all his films adds his blend of darkness mixed with high-octane action very well. Batman Forever and Batman Returns are very different from the first two. They decided to ...
...As far as the DVD's are concerned there's not a lot as well. The special features are lacking plus you don’t get the best Batman of all, Batman Begins. If you’re a hard-core fan then get the double disk individual versions, they both look better but contain more features. ... Read review

Batman & Robin & Poison Ivy & ......
Review of Batman And Robin (Wide Screen) by thepunisher

Advantages: continues the Batman saga, lots of characters
Disadvantages: worst Batman cast ever, uniforms

Honest oppinion: Worst Batman movie ever ! Directed by Joel Schuhmacher and not Tim Burton (of Batman and Batman Returns fame)and with a cast of Batman (Goerge Clooney), Robin (Chris O' Donnell), Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman)and Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) this should have been a good movie but sadly it isn't. Basic storyline: We find out how Robin came to be a friend of Batman as Batman watches an acrobatic group at the circus plunging to their ...
...the start between Robin and Batman on whether Robin should help or not, which gets worsened by a jealousy started by Ivy. Bad dialogue and really bad puns get intermixed with the worst costumes ever (even Batmans costume has nipples)and action scenes. Most memorable things for me: The abundance of Batman gadgets in his car (nice design), his Batwing and the Batboat. ... Read review

Should they have stopped at three?
Review of Batman And Robin (Special Edition) by homer__21

Advantages: Lots of Famous faces playing lead roles.
Disadvantages: Introduction of Batgirl.

...fight scenes. This time around Batman ( now taken over by George Clooney) and his new partner ( Still played by Chris O'Donnel) face Dr.Freeze ( Arnold Schwarzenegger) as he tries to encapsulate Gotham city in ice. The character of Poison Ivy is played well by Uma Thurman and provides a nice break from the usual gung ho maniacs and their goons. Batman & Robin displays most of the characteristics of any 'Action' film made in the last decade. It has ... Read review

Batsh*te
Review of Batman & Robin by djfryer2002

Advantages: None whatsoever
Disadvantages: Everything you can think of

...instead of taking him on, Batman and Robin just crack poor one-liners and beat up some hockey stick wielding thugs (very badly). After the spaceship ride things look to be improving but then we get an awful Uma Thurman who must have had an off-day and the horrendous Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl (a character which was not needed let alone played well by the actress). The entrance of biker-batgirl who teams up with Robin is perhaps one of the worst ...
...far better. His previous film Batman Forever was actually very good so where did it all go wrong? It's doubtful anyone will know but from the dodgy plant-ness of Poison Ivy (who tries to split up Batman and Robin's partnership) to the icy ending which includes the freezing of a dog taking a p against an unfortunate nearby post. This film totally stinks and smells worse than a farmers field when covered in pig crap, Total Film magazine pretty much ... Read review

Jacobo! Bertuccio! The world is mine!
Review of The Count Of Monte Cristo DVD by Chuckles1987

Advantages: Great performences, Superb story
Disadvantages: Mix of accents, some of original story lost

...loved it and now own the DVD. My copy cost £7 from HMV; it is also available from Play and Amazon for around £6. The front of the DVD case looks like the photograph shown. The back has a short description of the plot and some credits. This film was produced in 1975, and this DVD version released in 2007. Plot The film is a made-for-TV movie adaption of the novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas and is set in the Napoleonic era and stars ...
...to become a Captain in the Navy and is set to marry his true love, Mercedes (played by Kate Nelligan). Dantes plans are scuppered by three men who falsely accuse him of conspiring with Napoleon. Dantes is sentenced to live out his life in an isolated prison fortress, the Chateau D'If, on the island of Monte-Cristo. Dantes desire for revenge on the men who ruined his life is the only thing that can save him. It is here that he meets Abbé Faria, ... Read review
