...I'm Chain Reaction starts off with an intriguing premise and goes downhill from there, despite trying really hard to be a tense techno-thriller. In The initial idea, of a new power-source being developed from water (we're not talking traditional hydro-power here though) - which supposedly has the capacity to use the hydrogen in small glass of water to power the whole city of Chicago for weeks -is brilliant. ...it's not bad. Chain There's a brain behind this film (somewhat a rarity for this genre), but unfortunately it's been rather lost in the translation. An absolutely great movie. This movie was awesome from the word go. It's got a very atmospheric feel and all the characters in the film are great. The film is made up of a few short stories kinda like pulp fiction. It's a very graphic and violent movie based on the underworld and its comic book picturisation creates a great atmosphere. Lots of bloodiness ensues in this no-budget, independent London gangster flick. But don't go thinking this is a Guy Ritchie or Martin Scorsese type gangster movie - it's far from it! The story is fairly straightforward: Crime boss Randall (David Warbeck!), looks to increase his growing empire by hiring 'legendary' hitman, Walker, to take out his arch enemy, Harris and his crew. If you loved Jurassic Park and the Lost World, you're probably excited about the third film. However, prepare to be a bit disappointed with the quality of this compared to the other two. The script and characters aren't appealing enough for you to care about whether they make it off the island or not; several sub-plots are extremely predictable and annoying. Most of the dinosaurs, inlcuding ones we're familiar with already such as T-Rexes and Velociraptors, ...
...tension of Grant being a reluctant returnee to the Jurassic Park carries the film a little, like Dr Malcolm in The Lost World. I'd only recommend buying this if it's really cheap and you want to complete the triology - or if you're in the mood for a silly B-movie. ... Read review
