Lightning strikes harder in Die Hard 2
Review of Die Hard 2 (Special Edition) (DVD) by daz524361

Advantages: Great action scenes which keep you hooked right the way through
Disadvantages: Re-watching it will expose some plot holes and ideas which are fantastical

...the eighties, "Die Hard 2: Die Harder" attempts to better the first movie in many ways. This time, events are not restricted to one building, but an entire airport and it's surroundings. The action in this movie is on a bigger scale than the first movie. It's bigger, better and louder. Yet again, cop John McClane finds himself surrounded by proffesional terroists who have come to rescue a drug lord. The lengths they go to to do this are extreme ...
...And McClane is certainly going stop them. It has some nice touches hinting back to scenes in the first film, and also has three characters from the first making an appearance (not forgetting McClane) This film doesn't concern itself with plot, and is more about large scale shoot outs and immense action scenes carried out by some great actors. Bruce Willis is again great as the cop who saves the day. The main villian this time around is less comical ... Read review

Bruce Willis on top form
Review of Die Hard Trilogy (Collector's Edition) (DVD) by JeanReno

Advantages: Great films, nice extras, nice box.
Disadvantages: No Die Hard 4

After Die Hard 4's release last summer i felt compelled to buy the original films. The original trilogy still cuts the mustard even without lashings of CGI and such. The old tale of a renegade cop is nothing new but it was reborn in these films with not only great casting and the wonerful ham acting of Alan Rickman (Die Hard), but also great action and good solid film-making. As for the box set, not only does it come with the films but a strong set ...
...watch over and over. I think the only possible let down for me is that Die Hard 4.0 (which i would recommend buying with this set and taking the weekend off) isn't included, but this isn't the end of the world. All in all a safe buy for action fans. ... Read review

Die Hard- 10/10
Review of Die Hard (DVD) by chris15243

Advantages: Anybody can enjoy it.
Disadvantages: None

...going to be appearing in Die Hard i thought, brilliant. Bruce Willis is an amazing actor. The performance he gave was spectacular. He is one f the greatest actors in my opinion, when it comes to action films. The plot was very well thought out. I loved the film and the next 3 films that were produced after, were phenomenal. Also Alan Rickman playing a bad guy was a match made in heaven. His voice was perfect when he was giving Bruce an ultimatum. ... Read review

Die Hard - I should not have left it so long!
Review of Die Hard (Special Edition) (DVD) by Icklerae

Advantages: Gripping and clever story
Disadvantages: Can't think of any really

...only just watched the first Die Hard, but I really did not think it was my type of film....oh how wrong I was. Thbe complexity behind the story in this film is fantastic. Bruce Willis plays John McClane, an exceedingly credible cocky cop! He goes to meet his estranged wife at her office party and their is a hold up, he manages to hide and avoid being taken to the main area where everyone is being held. The criminal in charge is played by Alan Rickman, ...
...best actors for this era. He is smooth, slimy and his words purr in a way that makes your hair stand up on end! From McCane's freedom on the many many floors he has at his disposal he manages to contact the police, who send a single polliceman to survey the scene. Via radios the policeman and McClane make friends or at least begin to trust one another and when the police finally descend upon them they have a mutual dislike of the way they are handling ... Die Harder
Review of Die Hard 2 (DVD) by Icklerae

Advantages: Even better than the first
Disadvantages: nothing

...on the heals of watching Die Hard I watched Die Hard 2 last night. Oh my goodness it was definatley equal if not better than the first in it's superb plot quality, although far superior in stunts and locations. McCane (Bruce Willis) is picking his wife up from the airport when he sees some men acting suspiciously. He follows one into the luggage area and manges to kill one of them as they are messing with the luggage. The local police are not convinced ...
...sure the viewing public are convinced either! However shortly after that a gang of terrorists hijack the runways and the airport technology, meaining no planes could land. As his wife is on one of those planes circling the sky until it gets clearance to lend, McCane bides his time by becoming involved with a daredevil scheme to foil the terrorists plans. McCane tries to restore control to the tower with the help of the best gunmen but this fails ... Read review
