Advantages: Some nice fights, music
Disadvantages: Awful acting, annoying characters, PG-13?!

Review of Mortal Kombat (DVD)

Not your usual "window shopping"!

Advantages: Great soundtrack, sets and costumes
Disadvantages: Very one sided look at ram-raiding and other car crimes

...a daring ram-raid on a shopping mall, soemthing that has never been attempted before. He plans to pull off the raid before Tommy but will he do it and at what price? The performances are merely adequate. Law and Frost failed to stir up any empathy with me and I felt that this was a fundamental flaw with the film. Had I felt inspired by the acting I might have been able to identify with their motives for stealing cars, endangering lives and breaking ...
...the performances were not good enough to do that and so I found them pathetic instead. Pertwee is slightly more credible and manages to be at least a little threatening and unpleasant. And what of Sean Bean. He appears some forty-five minutes in, and even then only fleetingly, and puts in a rather mediocre performance, although, admittedly, he's not got much to work on. Mortal Kombat is the ultimate combat

Advantages: Fast paced, constant battles and a strong story line
Disadvantages: Some loose ends, unanswered questions

One to watch before you die!

Advantages: Great action flick, Jason Statham, great soundtrack
Disadvantages: None

Review of Death Race

Doomsday? Only for the audience!

Advantages: Dazzling special effects, quirky characters,
Disadvantages: story lacks depth, focus too much on the effects

2012 is not a bad movie; indeed it tries hard to be a good movie but unfortunately fails. In my opinion, 2012 had the potential to be the next Day after Tomorrow or Armageddon but unfortunately is lacking. The effects whilst impressive are 'unbelievable' and seem to focus more on the action than the believability of the situation. The story itself delivers pretty much what it promised with a doomsday scenario that isn't entirely out of the realm ...
...this movie bearable- sure the 'broken home' idea is a bit cliche but it seems to work with a few memorable charcters to boot. Overall the movie isn't trying to win any oscars because it won't; however it does deliver a couple of hours of outrageous peril and adventure that will entertain most of the family. ...
