...The movie does have a lot of violence, which although not for the faint hearted, is a realistic part of the culture being described. The whole movie is in an ancient native language, subtitled in English, and it lends an air of authenticity to the movie that I feel would have been missing otherwise. ...great story. i remember reading the book as a kid many years ago. Back then it was adventure to imagine that you could go to a secret land in the back of an old wardrobe. The book kept me on the edge of my seat and stayed with me as one of the best books i have read for years..... so as you can imagine for me the film had to be the business. Never before has I seen such an inspirational film. The film is one of the best that there is. The film is about the England being run by what could be concieved as a dictatorship, with curfews and a police force with their own set of rules. The people are having their lives run for them. A man in a guy fawkes mask turns out to be the saviour, blowing up the old bailey and the houses of parliament whilst falling in love and taking on the bad guys ...
...life in this film and so is the importance of what we have today. Th acting in this film is amazing beyond all belief. Natalie Portman plays the love interest Evey, who after a long while sees that what the masked man is doing is the right way and the only way to give hope to the people.
