Great
Review of The First Great Train Robbery DVD by tommyb123

Advantages: Fine performance from connery
Disadvantages: Connery plays the role very much with a straight bat, perhaps a little too pompous & stiff but entertaining all the same

...Victorian England. Connery plays the role very much with a straight bat, perhaps a little too pompous & stiff but entertaining all the same. However, he is ably supported by fellow criminals Donald Sutherland (with a rather thick & unforgiving Cockney accent) and a rather angelic performance from Leley-Anne Down as Connery's love interest. Coupled with a some outstanding cinematography by Geff Unsworth, showing panoramic views of the English countryside, ...
...been better, although I feel the film is perhaps 10 or 15 minutes overlong. But he never lets the pace flounder, and neither does he let the Connery-Down love interest suffocate or distract from the overall plot. However, the characterisation for the main leads is a bit shallow & clumbsy. Connery is very much at home as Edward Pierce, the well respect city gent & playboy. In essence, not all that different from his James Bond character, although ... Read review

Golden, Golden, Golden Bond
Review of James Bond Ultimate Golden Triple Pack - Goldfinger/The Man With The Golden Gun/Goldeneye (Box Set) by dodgeinator

Advantages: 3 Great Films
Disadvantages: Rather expensive RRP on them in comparsion

Golden, Golden, Golden. Undoubtedly 3 of the best Bonds. First of all theres Goldfinger featuring evil arch villain (you guessed it) Goldfinger, has a strange obsession of murdering people by covering them in solid gold paint. Will Goldfinger succeed in his attempt to rob Fort Knox, surely not, but hey, it's Bond... anything can happen. The Second Golden film, this time, is the Man With the Golden Gun. Here new Bond Roger Moore, takes on new villain ...
...uses a Golden Gun. So when Bond receives a bullet with his name on from him, things start to get a bit heated. Will Scaramanga succeed in assassinating Bond, or will he be made to bite the "bullet". The third Golden Bond is Golden Eye, this sees yet another new Bond, Pierce Brosnan, star in his debut film. Things look bad for Bond when his best friend 006 appears to be assassinated. After a massive electromagnetic pulse, is set off, Bind goes in ... Read review

Welcome to the 70's, now prepare to die.
Review of Diamonds Are Forever DVD by Ollydv

Advantages: Well its bond, james bond! a bit of good action
Disadvantages: um... Jill St. John's acting is pretty crap and sometimes seems like a joke

...it. A large amount of diamonds have been stolen from some south African mines and two assasins are killing everyone in the smuggling ring one-by-one. So, you guessed it, Bond goes undercover, as some guy called Peter Franks, a diamond smuggler. But during his time undercover, he discovers that the head of the smugglers is the one and only Ernst Stavros Blofeld (think thats spelled right). So now Bond has to try and take his Blofeld's best assassins ...
...plot and to avenge the death of his wife Tracy. He sets out with a beautiful smuggler Tiffany Case (Jill St. John) to try and stop the madman. The Plot: There is a plot, but they don't really seem in any rush to get there, it just seems to go quite slow. The Music: The theme song is the best music in the film, and any other music that is in the film is quite cheesy, and lame. The Visuals: The visuals were ok i guess, the best scene being where ... FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963) [FILM ONLY REVIEW]
Review of From Russia With Love DVD by Charles_Strickland

Advantages: Lots of action and thrills
Disadvantages: None

Terence Young's FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE was released in 1963, one year after its predecessor, the first James Bond offering DR. NO, took the world by storm. The latter was a very exciting introduction to the world of secret espionage as vividly created in the Ian Fleming novel it was based on; but how well does the follow up Ian Fleming adaptation, with greater production values, John Barry's now famous musical score and the movie franchise's first ...
...can access Russian state secrets, from a defecting Russian agent, who, working in Istanbul, is risking her life bringing the decoder, and herself, to the attention of England. Indeed, it appears she is somewhat in love with the tall, dark and handsome James Bond and so the question, as Bond makes his long and treacherous journey back to England on the famous Orient Express, with one eye on the decoder and a wandering eye on the beautiful Russian ... Dr No
Review of Dr. No DVD by anita1509

Advantages: Great Storyline, Great Musical Score, Fantastic Actors, Great Special Effects
Disadvantages: Being an older film, it hasn't got the best picture quality

Dr No is the first film in the massive James Bond series. It stars Sean Connery as the famous British agent, starring alongside Ursula Andress. When in Jamacia investigating various mishaps, Bond stumbles upon a plot to take over the world spearheaded by the manical Doctor Julious No. His investigations into this plot takes him to Crab Key Island, where he finds Doctor No's secret base and attempts to stop the threat once and for all... Dr No also ...
...next few movies of the series. SPECTRE is an enjoyable prospect alone, as the newer Bond films have no sense of continuity, whilst the originals felt more like a series that continued from the preceding film. The movie is very enjoyable, and showcases what a great actor Sean Connery is. The fear he shows through his face in the tarantula scene and the proffesionalism he gives Bond makes him one of the better actors to play the famous agent. His ... Read review
