the fast and furious
Review of The Fast And The Furious (DVD) by desibabu

Advantages: action,taking
Disadvantages: none

The film is packed with action from the word go with a bit of intrigue, a story line which never really shows up, some truly gripping scenes of cars zooming through desolate streets thrown in for good measure. An undercover cop, a beautiful girl, a tough thug with a heart of gold are all mixed into a concoction, which is a product of Hollywood's pure indulgence. Reels and reels of film are used to show the excitement of dangerous racing and cars ...
...Toretto (Vin Diesal) drives on the streets of LA like he owns it. And as far as his gang is concerned he does. He spends his days putting wrench time into high performance racing cars- make and model matter less than the computer controlled fuel injection that makes them literally fly. At nights however it is complete mayhem and anarchy fuelled by adrenaline and high speed. Dom pilots his own earth bound rocket, pocketing as much as $10,000 a ... Read review

fast and furious
Review of The Fast And The Furious (DVD) by jo_field26

Advantages: paul walker
Disadvantages: n.a

...you also have Vin Diesel. The film has great special effects and not that I am a huge car fan but the cars are great too. Dom played by Vin Diesel and his gang all have great cars and at night they like to show them off and race against others, when one night Brian played by Paul Walker wants to race, he does not have the money to, but offers his car if he loses. Brian looks like he is going to win, but at the last minute is beaten by Dom. Brian ...
...a gang driving fast cars. The FBI suspects that the robbers are involved in the street-racing. As it unfolds Brian is not just a street racer he is a FBI Agent undercover, which I must say I never saw coming and he joins Dom's gang undercover. Brian them has to go few a trials and competes in a few more races, whist all along trying to find out who is responsible for the thefts. In the end Brian finds out that it is Dom and his gang that are involved ... Read review

There's no Grace for Graceland
Review of 3000 Miles To Graceland (DVD) by christianfilmcritic

Advantages: A few Elvis songs
Disadvantages: Too many to mention

...very lowly. I honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even harden fans of Kevin Costner. There are too many good films out there to waste your time and money on this one. 3000 Miles to Graceland is available on Amazon for £5.97, which is still too much for this film. ... Read review

DRIVEL!
Review of Driven (DVD) by cokane

Advantages: You Can Switch It Off
Disadvantages: Its Sad To See Stallone Sink Even Lower

...owner of a copy of Driven through a joke £1 bid on ebay. There was a day left on the auction, surely I would be outbid. Surely. But no, my bid won, I couldn't believe it. Why would the seller even accept such a low bid, I didn't care, I'd got one over on him. Little did I realise he was probably laughing all the way to the bank with his shiny little pound. I should have guessed something was up when no-one else put in a bid. They knew something I ...
...since Sylvester had started turning up in the paddock at every F1 meeting about 7 years ago. He was planning to make a movie about F1, applying the good old rocky formula, racer is coming to end of career, racer gets his chance, mean German/Brit/Scandinavian gets in his way, racer overcomes him as he overcomes his own personal demon and roll titles. Another Stallone triumph in the bag, surely. Then I found out he'd had a wee row with the F1 people ... Read review

Rollerball
Review of Rollerball (DVD) by mrtimharry

Advantages: hmmmm
Disadvantages: the acting, the script, the special effects, the soundtrack

I brought Rollerball on DVD a couple of years ago and had never got around to watching it until today - all I can say is that i should have waited many more years. The original 1970's Rollerball is a classic, with James Caan in the lead role. The remake with Chris Klein is a poor imitation at best. Klein plays Jonathan Cross, a failed NHL player, who is inticed by Marcus Ridley (LL Cool J), by the big money available to play a new sport, Rollerball. ...
...Alexis Petrovich (Jean Reno). Rollerball takes place in an arena, where a team on rollerblades and motorbikes attempt to score against a defending team, similarly dressed. Cross is soon made aware that the sport is simply a way to get TV ratings, and take the money, via betting, from the working people. Petrovich to improve TV ratings starts inciting more and more violence into the sport. As players get injured, Ridley and Cross make a run from ... Read review
