Schwarzenegger at his best
Advantages: Action packed Disadvantages: none
Predator is one of the films that helped establish Arnold Schwarzenegger as an action hero. It was directed by John McTiernan, in 1987.
This film follows a team of commandos sent on a mission by the CIA, to retrieve downed airmen from guerrillas, in a Central American jungle. Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and his experienced men are confident of a successful mission. However there mission takes on a deadly twist when they realise that they are being ... ...is great support from Carl Weathers, as the CIA operative with a hidden agenda. The special effects are spectacular and you will be impressed when you finally get to see the predator in all its glory. Predator is very exciting and really gripped my attention right to the stunning end. ...

Great film
Advantages: all of it! Disadvantages: not much
...in total).
The first Predator movie is an action classic, with it's then pioneering in-your-face, first-person action sequences, setting a standard for action movies of the late 80's. This is also one of Arnie's best movies after the Terminator films(bar number 3), with some great "dialogue" between Arnie's character Dutch and Dillon, played by Carl Weathers - not forgetting Arnie's one-liners like "knock, knock" and "stick around".
The DVD itself ... ...scenes and outtakes.
Now, Predator 2 is not really a sequal, but a different story invloving the Predator, set in Los Angeles in the then future 1997. The film stands up on its own as a solid action movie, with a great performance from Danny Glover in the lead. It has that infamous scene with the "Alien" skull in the trophy room of the Predator ship, which spawned the Alien Vs Predator comics, and ofcourse the inevitable movie.
Again the DVD is ...

Robocop DVD Review
Advantages: Characters, Intelligence, Humour, Plot.S Disadvantages: Stop-Start Animation is a little dated by today's standards.
...genre. Along with The Terminator, Robocop is considered to be one of the most definitive movies of Cyberpunk, a subgenre of Science Fiction; an exploration of man with machine. Paul Verhoeven's film is brutally violent, funny, and thought provocative. A classic. It's a scary thought living in the future. "Old Detroit", as it's called, is all about Capitalism and the media, with little regard for the people's lives. The Police Department has become ... ...authorities didn't count on was Robocop regaining memories from his previous life. Going beyond the confines of his programming, he begins hunting down the gang of drug dealers responsible for his brutal execution, as well as bringing justice to the greedy company bosses that created him. And that is indeed one of the main points of the film: the proclaimed "Robocop" appears more humane than a majority of the big company bosses do; forcing us, the ...

Lethal Weapon
Advantages: Buddy movie; humour; Gary Busey; stunts Disadvantages: The Sequels that followed
...despite Gibson's trademark 80's mullet Lethal Weapon is one of them. This is not your typical Schwarzenegger-esque blow-shit-up-just-for-the-sake-of-it action movie, followed by a host of witty one liners (which I still love by the way); this is actually a respectably paced movie about two mismatched cops, whose irreconcilable personalities are interestingly developed throughout. The stunts aren't half bad either (definitely no CGI here). Danny Glover ... ...the most distinctive contrast in Lethal Weapon- besides the cheap trailer living, emotionally unstable Martin Riggs Vs. the safe, glamourous, family lifestyle of his buddy Murtaugh- is the sharp mix of Christmas laden with loneliness, tragedy, and violence. Much like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon's atmosphere is audacious and pulls no punches; the scene where Riggs is drunk in his trailer with a picture of his beloved wife, and contemplating suicide, gets ...

If it bleeds, we can kill it!
Advantages: Great Arnie film Disadvantages: Nothing really
...through the jungle, an unseen predator hunts Dutch and his men for no apparent reason, and it will take all their guile and experience to combat this new and deadly foe.
The Cast and Performances
Arnie is a mean machine in this film, and he is joined by an array of musclebound stars in his mission. His performance is very good, but does not require as much acting, as this is a largely action based role with the sci-fi and special effects aspect ... ...hunter becoming the hunted. The Predator is a marvel in special effects, and the FX team must get as shout out to them, although the man who wore the suit, Kevin Peter Hall, said he couldn 't see a damn thing with the mask on. The scenery is well chosen, with filming being taken in the jungle. The actors had to be buff all the way through the film, and it is reported that director John McTiernan and lead man Arnie lost a stone each due to the nature ...
