Back to the Future
Advantages: Excellent plot, Some laughs Disadvantages: None
Back to the future is one of the greatest films of all time and is definitely gets my vote for being THE best. It was made in 1985 but remains a timeless classic. Everyone should watch this movie at some time during their lives - it's that good! --- the BASICS --- Back to the future is a science fiction film about time travelling, starring Michael Fox and Christopher Lloyd as the 2 main lead characters and directed by Robert Zemeckis. The film has ... ...an atom bomb (?!)) came back for revenge and killed the doc. To escape from the pursuers Marty drove the Delorean inadvertently breaking the speed barrier - and arriving at 1955 which was the day doc had the idea of the flux capacitor which apparently is an integral part of the time travelling car. During this little adventure Marty bumped into his mum - before she met her eventual husband and Marty's dad! Will Marty even make it back to 1985? How ...

The most overblown and silly action movie ever!
Advantages: Everything you could want in a dumb action movie Disadvantages: Everything you hate about dumb action movies
...from this kind of movie. There are (ultra violent) fights, car chases, mass chaos, panic, gunplay and raw machismo. Overall, Commando is a just a great genre piece, if you are in the mood for a "action movie from the 80's starring Arnold Schwarzenegger" then look no further than Commando. ...

The Terminator
Advantages: Arnie; Michael Biehn; Love sub-plot; Scary; Concept of the Future Disadvantages: Dated CGI
...cyborg. In this iconic role, the tight-lipped, square-headed Austrian warped into the minds of many 80s youths, such as myself, and made us truly believe there are killer robots aiming to wipe out our existence in the near future. Even today, the haunting science behind the fictitious tale of The Terminator contributes to my cynical outlook of men at war with machines.
By now, it is common knowledge that John Connor is at the pinnacle of humanity's ... ...century. The machines, of course, fully aware of this threat, decide to send a T-800 model (Arnie) back in time to kill Connor's mother Sarah; thus, attempting to eliminate the child's existence prior to him being born. Fortunately, Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), is also sent back as one of the freedom fighters, and is prepared to protect the target from the seemingly indestructible cyborg right until the very end.
The horrifyingly original concept, ...

An excellent war film
Advantages: Great characters, plenty of action, enjoyable to watch Disadvantages: None
Salvador is one of my favourite films, released in 1986 and directed by Oliver Stone it has near faultless performances from the actors and the filming of the war in El Salvador gives a brutal and moving account of what it was like to be there in 1980.
The film moves along at a fast pace and you won't be able to move from the tv, it also starts off in a relatively fun way as Richard Boyle (James Woods) plays a journalist in California who is down ... ...they head down to El Salvador in a car, drinking, cracking bad jokes and generally having un all the way.
Despite their obvious dodginess you can't help but warm to them and this is an important part of the film which is contrasted by the shocking scenes as they enter war torn El Salvador. The duo then get themselves in to various scrapes but normally manage to pay their way out of trouble, initially a bit of a sleazeball Richard Boyle soon falls ...

My review of First Blood Part II---amazing!!!
Advantages: Almost everything. Disadvantages: None.
...and green beret John G. Rambo (Sylvester Stallone), is captivated because of assaulting a Police officer (1st part), and is now serving the penalties, when he is asked for help by General Cauffmann (Richard Crenna), in serving a secret operation. Rambo agrees. From here, the movie shows the usual style of Rambo in his operation. He has been sent just to take some photographs of enemy camp covertly, and not alerting the enemies. But reaching there, ... ...of the movie starts, and holds till the end.The story and the commencement of the movie are just perfect, just like a war movie should be. The action sequences, the Rambo kills.......just WOW!!! In my opinion, this is the best action movie I have ever seen in my life. ...
