No Moore please, this one bored the Living Daylights Out of Me!
Advantages: Erm................good theme tune Disadvantages: Weak acting, story was far fetched at time, bad effects and fight scenes
Well it seems quite strange to say that hubby chose this film as it does not star John Wayne but I have to say I think I would have perhaps preferred him to this drivel I had to endure. Roger Moore takes on the role of 007, James Bond in this film. He is set to uncover the mysterious deaths of 005 and 006 and soon he finds he is tracking a drug lord. He stars off in New York where he is chased and threaten but during this he meets Solitaire, a tarot ... ...things which are about to happen, who he instantly find attractive. Bond soon finds his investigations lead him to Louisiana’s Bayou Country where he uncovers some very powerful men and again he meets Solitaire and vows to help her escape from the Drug Lord. Will Bond be able to save himself from the drug Lord and his men and will he be able to help Solitaire?
Now I know the plot summery which I have been given sound very brief but taking away Bond ...

Musketeer fun
Advantages: Swashbuckling action Disadvantages: none
The Three Musketeers is a action/comedy film directed by Richard Lester and based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas, père.
The film follows the adventures of d'Artagnan (Michael York) who leaves his family for Paris, to fufuill his dream to become a Musketeer of the Guard. Whilst trying to fulfil this dream he and three musketeers: Athos (Oliver Reed), Porthos (Frank Finlay), and Aramism(Richard Chamberlain), must stop a plot by the evil Cardinal ... ...France (Jean-Pierre Cassel).
Originally The Three Musketeers was intended to run for three hours, but was later released as two films (resulting in 1974's The Four Musketeers).
The supporting cast includes, Raquel Welch, Christopher Lee, Spike Milligan, Roy Kinnear, Faye Dunaway and Joss Ackland.
This is a great film adaptation of the famous Dumas novel that adheres to the story and injects a little humour as well. It has a stellar cast who are ...

BADLANDS (1973) [FILM ONLY REVIEW]
Advantages: Multi layered, immense performances, stunning visuals Disadvantages: None
Terrence Malick's BADLANDS was released at the New York Film Festival in 1973, alongside such honoured company as Scorsese's first great film MEAN STREETS, but it's Malick's hypnotic directing debut, complete with stark visuals and a disquieting narrative, that set new standards for character studies (like Scorsese's later TAXI DRIVER) all around the world.
Kit is a troubled but careless and free young man who feels he doesn't belong in society ... ...the abiding question that makes BADLANDS the fascinating masterpiece it is: "was it his influence on her or her influence on him?" I find it impossible, however wildly against the noun, to not use "cool" in this review. BADLANDS is "cool" why? Because in it's short and snappy running time of an hour and a half Terrence Malick is in complete control throughout. Never allowing what is in effect a violent road movie to stray from the straight-and-narrow ...

Moore Not Less
Advantages: Great fun, terrific action sequences Disadvantages: Slightly dated in places
...Hamilton (director on the forthcoming Live and Let Die) suggested the American actor for Bond. Other options included Michael Billington, best known for a part in Gerry Anderson's camp television series UFO. Broccoli looked for a compromise and started thinking about Roger Moore again. Roger Moore, now 45, had been considered for Bond more than once in the sixties but television contracts had always made him unavailable. His tv show The Persuaders ... ...back seat in busy traffic. Live and Let Die has some terrific action sequences.
David Hedison makes a decent Felix Leiter in Live and Let Die. Hedison and Moore are good friends in real life and this is evident in the secenes they act in together. The trail leads Bond to the
Fillet of Soul restaurant run by a criminal figure called Mr Big. Roger Moore looks a tad conspicuous wandering around Harlem as if he's just stepped out his Saville Row tailers ...

Major inspiration for Kill Bill
Advantages: If this movie hasn't been filmed, Kill Bill wouldn't have existed. Disadvantages: Filmed in 1973; hence not great picture quality
Lady Snowblood DVD 1: Blizzard from the Netherworld
As a true Kill Bill fan I couldn’t avoid seeing the movie that inspired QT to create Kill Bill Volume 1 and 2. Shuriyukihime (Shuri-Yuki-Hime - AKA Lady Snowblood) is a female Samurai theme filmed in 1973 in Japan. As many other films, Lady Snowblood was based on a comic book. Someone must admit that Tarantino couldn’t have picked a better inspirational movie than Lady Snowblood.
So … decades ... ...decade the ' 70, came Lady Snowblood who is a pioneer woman in slaughter, revenge and lyricism. With two films only, she was established as the absolute female samurai. Never before did a female hero avenger like that exist; who would move and impress so much fans of samurai/ swordplay type/ cult films.
Lady Snowblood is the original movie that is eligible finally to an honorary indication. The film of Toshiya Fujita Lady Snowblood had engraved ...
