Clint Eastwood The Legend Box Set 1
Review of Clint Eastwood The Legend 1 (Box Set) by CAPTAINSTARDUST

Advantages: Clint at his best
Disadvantages: If you are an avid Eastwood fan like me.......NONE

...price. I have always liked Clint Eastwood so I bought the box set,and it really is one of the best box sets I have ever purchased Clint Eastwood at his very very best in Where Eagles Dare, a favourite film of mind which I can never tire of watching The other films on this DVD set are also good ones, though some are little heard of, but having said that, Clint Eastwood is in my opinion at his best in all five. So if you are looking for a good clutch ... Read review

George Lazenby was good James Bond shocker!
Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Ultimate Edition) by arthurpringle

Advantages: The best James Bond film ever made
Disadvantages: Might be a bit overlong for some

...James Bond meant they were on a hiding to nothing whatever they did. During the casting process a 28 year-old Australian model (best known for a chocolate advert) called George Lazenby broke the nose of a stuntman while shooting some test footage of a fight scene. Lazenby was not an actor but he looked like a James Bond and moved well. Director Peter Hunt (promoted from editor to direct OHMSS) felt that he could use Lazenby's look, toughness and ...
...the franchise. But in truth On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the best film in the series and Lazenby was a pretty good Bond who would have got a lot better. For once Eon decided to remain relatively faithful to the source material. They may have annoyingly made an unfaithful version of You Only Live Twice out of sequence (in relation to the novels) but they redeemed themselves with OHMSS and produced a film that is as unique, risky, stylish, action-packed ... On Her Service, Off The Rails
Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service DVD by pmcds

Advantages: True Bond
Disadvantages: Not as entertaining

...took up the role for On Her Majesty's Secret Service in what is actually one of the better films in terms of plot. The Plot Relieved of pursuing Blofeld by his superiors, Moneypenny cleverly acquires James Bond two weeks' leave, during which he travels to Switzerland in pursuit of a mob boos' daughter as well as Blofeld, for the S.P.E.C.T.R.E. number 1 is hatching a new plot, involving chemical tests on human beings in the hope of creating superhumans. ...
...This all having been said, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is not as entertaining as the previous Bond films. There is none of the indestructibility of Connery's Bond, and nothing too flashy and unbelievable, and I feel that is the large part of the attraction of Bond, and so I understand why a lot of people don't rate O.H.M.S.S. as highly as other Bond films. However, I do. It;s a wonderful film. Conclusion Bond as Fleming intended. The DVD is ... Read review

A new Bond and a new role
Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service DVD by Ice_Blaster

Advantages: New style
Disadvantages: boring at times

...chases Blofeld down a slope on a Bobsled, Bond catches up and takes on Blofeld in hand-to-hand combat. Bond looks victorious and presumes Blofeld is dead. Bond and Stacy marry- It had to be in once film! Bond and Tracy go home in there car- but are persued by Blofeld and his hench-women- Bunt. Tracy is killed and Bond is left to cradle his arms in the only women he ever truly loved! Bond is given a new Aston-Martin in this film. Though a sleek new ...
...using anything in can find on the beach- how convenient. This was more of an experimental film to see how Bond would cope being an emotional agent. I think the film lacked some action, but it did give the Bond fans something new and different. Not a bad Bond film, but it has not been the best of the series- give Bond his usual role. On Her Majesty's secret service gets an 7 out of 10. Ice Blaster ... Read review

Gary Fenn = Simon Templar
Review of Crossplot DVD by Timbo3107

Advantages: Swinging 60's
Disadvantages: Looks dated

...Leigh Vance the writer of Crossplot has done with this piece. And if that is the case then this was a victory and a very solid one as well. Music wise it has an upgrade from the standard ITC music and has a jazz/swing feel in parts and the correct approach taken on fight scenes with an up-tempo hard hitting sound. I first saw this as a kid and was riveted throughout the 96 minutes of the film as I saw places I recognised such as Westminster Bridge ...
...story as I can now see this on an entirely different level, although I was not exactly riveted to my seat as I was when I was a kid, I still enjoyed the film but saw the film from a different perspective entirely. ---The Cast--- There are three main characters throughout the film itself…. Roger Moore plays Gary Fenn, for Moore this was a walk in the park with his eyes shut as he is effectively playing the role of Simon Templar without the Brylcreem, ... Read review
