To call this collection "classics" is stretching it slightly when They Drive by Night is really a George Raft film where Bogart is in a supporting role and had not quite broken through into the big time with The Maltese Falcon etc. This film, the third here, is average and the weak point of the threesome. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is acknowledged as a classic and often rates highly in polls but I have to admit it is not a personal favourite. ...
...Bogie, the tale of greed corrupting friendships is timeless but looking back the acting often seems over the top with Bogart looking like he was looking for a statuette for his performance. In a nutshell, three prospectors set off looking for gold and are gradually driven into insanity by the lure of great riches as each starts to doubt the honesty and trustworthiness of the others. The Bigger the hit, the faster the rush, the Sweeter the revenge!

Advantages: Great action packed film, Great actors, Good storyline
Disadvantages: You may not be able to get into the story-line!

The fast was fast and the furious were furious

Overall the movie turned out not to be as boring as I thought it would be. When I heard about it I thought "great another movie about fast racing cars". After wathching it, my opinion changed. The actors/actresses performances were very well done. The effects made you hold your breath untill the sence was over and want to know what happens next. Being that I watched it after the fourth one was already out It was perfect Knowing ther was more to come. ...
