Bruce Willis on top form
Review of Die Hard Trilogy (Collector's Edition) (DVD) by JeanReno

Advantages: Great films, nice extras, nice box.
Disadvantages: No Die Hard 4

After Die Hard 4's release last summer i felt compelled to buy the original films. The original trilogy still cuts the mustard even without lashings of CGI and such. The old tale of a renegade cop is nothing new but it was reborn in these films with not only great casting and the wonerful ham acting of Alan Rickman (Die Hard), but also great action and good solid film-making. As for the box set, not only does it come with the films but a strong set ...
...watch over and over. I think the only possible let down for me is that Die Hard 4.0 (which i would recommend buying with this set and taking the weekend off) isn't included, but this isn't the end of the world. All in all a safe buy for action fans. ... Read review

Non stop action from Nicholas Cage
Review of Con Air (DVD) by chellbian

Advantages: action packed, good effects, star studded cast
Disadvantages: none

Con Air is one of those timeless action flicks that remains enjoyable no matter how many times you've watched it. Showing on station WGN this evening, I couldn't resist watching it for the seventh or eighth time since its release ten years ago. Starring Nicholas Cage in the lead role as Cameron Poe, Con Air tells the story of an ex-soldier (Cage), released from prison following an eight year sentence for involuntary manslaughter. When he began his ...
...on the Las Vegas Strip, Con Air has the necessary happy ending and tying up of loose ends- the bad guys getting their come-uppance, Larkin and Poe saving the day and Poe successfully returning to his beautiful wife (Monica Potter) and daughter. The film is directed by Simon West, who has, since Con Air's release, gone on to direct and produce films such as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Black Hawk Down. The cast is star-studded and even if you don't ... Read review

Review of Pulp Fiction - Special Edition / Jackie Brown - Special Edition / Reservoir Dogs - Special Edition (Tarantino Collection) (DVD) by slade1975

Advantages: Too many to mention.
Disadvantages: Pity there isn't more.

...one boxset. Let's start with Pulp Fiction, what can I say that hasn't been said already. This movie is a must see for all Tarantino fans. It starts with lightning pace and just keeps on going. The plot is intricately woven giving the audience dashes of dark humour, explosive action and senceless violence. The characters are colourful and exciting and it's the best sountrack to a movie I have heard in a long time. This is a must see movie. Jackie ...
...here, but it is still enjoyable to watch, it follows an airhostess who is caught in the middle of a war between two-bit criminals and the police. It has a soul soundtrack that oozes funk and with clever dialogue and a tight woven plot its an enjoyable film to watch. Now on to Reservoir Dogs, this has got to be my favourite of the bunch. The basic plot follows a gang of thieves that are known to each other only as colours. The plot grabs you by the ... Read review

Matrix Fever
Review of The Matrix/Matrix Reloaded/Matrix Revolutions (Box Set) (Blu-Ray) by vibhucse

Advantages: Good picture quality, great action and camera effects
Disadvantages: Too violent, may lead to a sense of insecurity

The DVD contains all the Matrices. The picture quality is quite crisp. The movie collection in the box is ultimate. This presents you with an opportunity to view the complete matrix series. If you are an action movie and special effect lover then this collection is a must for you. The first movie on DVD is The Matrix, tells how the battle between human and machines actually begin . The movie is about a group of hackers that have taken the responsibility ...
...who is said to be the chosen one , and can save humans. The second and the third series are the sequence of battle. In the third and final part Neo is able to sense the powers he posses , and uses these powers to effects. The most attractive thing in the Movie are the camera tricks. These Camera tricks make the movie even more thrilling. The concept and story used are equally attractive. On the down side movie tend be over violent and stress is ... Read review

Batman Begins/ Dark Knight Blu Ray Box
Review of The Dark Knight/Batman Begins (Box Set) (Blu-Ray) by RobWallace101

Advantages: Great Films, Good Value for Blu Ray
Disadvantages: Still cheaper to buy normal DVD and the difference isnt that huge

...Nolans Excellent Screen Conversion of The Caped Crusader Both films are set in the dark and dirty city of Gotham, the stories follow Batman as he fights crime and generally saves the day. Batman Begins: This film basically sets the scene for the probable next few batman films, we see bruce waynes story from the murder of his parents... to overcoming personal demons and rising to become the batman. While stopping along the way to kick Scarecrow ...
...packing in his job as the Batman, theres a new politician in town... a Mr Harvey Dent, and he is doing a great job of cleaning up Gotham so why would Gotham need a Vigilante..... because the jokers in town thats why.
