Not as brainless as punch drunk as you'd think
Advantages: Inspring action and sharp dialogue in places Disadvantages: Shouldve skipped from IV to VI in my opinion
The Rocky films are surprisingly a sharp set of stories which are not the '80s action movie hero with boxing gloves on' that you'd expect. They have the power to inspire the mind, make you chuckle and pull on the heart strings, unlike any of his action rivals of the time. This is the reason I rate them so highly.
A couple of years before the (probably) final installment of the Rocky series came in, Warner Brothers released a slick box set entitled ... ...rash, doesn't it?
The Rocky Anthology consists of Rockys 1 through 5: from the gritty opener in 1976 which made Stallone his name, to the uneccessary 'V' in 1990. That makes me wonder: is there a single film out there with the roman numeral 'V' ending the title which is any good??? Rocky V is certainly no exception to the rule. However, there is some real gold amongst the 6 disks here. Especially in the early installments before the Rocky franchise ...

Die Another Day
Advantages: Has been out for a while now so cheaper Disadvantages: Not as 'Bond' as some of it's predecessors
...to give the plot away, Die Another Day is the 20th film about supercool British spy James Bond. After Bond is captured and traded by the Korean Military, Bond embarks on a journey that takes him from the streets of London to the beautiful frozen surfaces of Iceland in an attempt to discover who betrayed him to the Korean's in the first place.
With more guns, gadgets and more insane bad guys than before Die Another Day is exciting, but in a different ... ...his way through the stories, Die Another Day has Bond fight and blast his way though most of the movie.
With a superb supporting cast featuring Halle Berry, Rick Yune, John Cleese and Dame Judi Dench, if this is a film you haven't seen already, it's time you did. ...

"Spend the money quickly Mister Bond."
Advantages: Lavish, entertaining Disadvantages: A bit daft in places
Octopussy is the thirteenth film in the James Bond series and was originally released in 1983. It features Roger Moore in his sixth and second to last appearance as James Bond and was directed by series regular John Glen. The plot of Octopussy (which retains little of Ian Fleming's short story) revolves around priceless Faberge eggs, jewel smuggling, female circus performers and a nutty Russian General with plans for a strike against the West. The ... ...(Steven Berkhoff) and the mysterious Octopussy (Maud Adams) in locations as diverse as India and Germany...
After the relatively low-key For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy restored much of the widescreen spectacle and nonsense you expect from a Roger Moore James Bond film. In many ways this is the actor's last hurrah in the role with the kitchen sink thrown at the screen for the sake of entertainment. The plot (with input by George Macdonald Fraser) ...

speed film review
Advantages: action packed and fast paced Disadvantages: not many
i think speed is a great name for this film as from start to finish it is action packed, and also the story line is very gripping. the acting is to a usual standard, i thought. not great oscar winning performances but its an action film so i wouldnt expect any. the chartacters in this film are very memorable beause of the actions sequences that they take part in. for instance keanu reeves under the coach/bus trying to diffuse the bomb, i loved this ... ...fifty mph; then, if the speed drops below fifty, the bomb will explode. Their high-speed bus ride through L.A.'s city streets and freeways is like something out of an amusement park and will leave you quite breathless.
as far as i no the extras contained in this dvd special edition are a normal standard as to what you would normally get. i.e commentarys from the cast and crew, biographys and deleted scenes. ...

Bus pass Bond
Advantages: Original sequences involving a Horse race. Disadvantages: Morre is too old to be believable as 007.
The title of A View to a Kill is taken from Ian Fleming's short story called From a View to a Kill. Published in April 1960 as part of a collection of short stories in the novel For Your Eyes Only, the story tells of Bond going undercover to investigate the murder of a dispatch rider in France.
This was Roger Moore's seventh and final outing as 007, at the time Moore was 58 and had been in the role of Bond for twelve years so the believability factor ... ...sequence begins with Bond recovering a microchip from the dead body of 003 in Siberia. The chip is the key to the whole plot of the film and from this Bond begins to uncover a web of intrigue and a plan for world domination that has disastrous consequences for the west coast of America. The plot has absolutely nothing to do with the novel at all; in fact the only similarities to the novel are the location of part of the story which begins in France. ...
