Return of the Dark Knight
Review of Batman (Movie Box Set) by
mattb1983
Advantages: Tim Burton, Michael Keaton
Disadvantages: Batman and Robin, George Clooney, Nipples on the suit!
...set contains the first 4 Batman films, and the great thing about this box set is that it is cheaper than buying the films individually, and it chronicles the change in the Batman genre, from dark and moody (Burton), to more slapstick and comic-book like (Schumacher).
And so we begin with Batman (1989). This is not an origin story, like Batman Begins, instead, the film picks up with Batman already well established as a masked vigilante, putting the ... ...a bell tower showdown.
Batman is a very dark affair, but watching it, even now, it's not difficult to see why this film became (at the time) one of the top 10 highest grossing films ever. Burton paints a dark, decrepit, devastating Gotham City, whilst Michael Keaton was born to play the dark knight. Jack Nicholson, as usual, steals the film with one of the great super-villain displays, as the demented Joker. Next to Batman Returns, which sees the ...

a fast and furious way to waste your money
Review of The Fast And The Furious Collection (Box Set) by
curiousG2
Advantages: Three films with unbeliavably nice cars in
Disadvantages: The films arnt that great
Although i enjoyed the first two films and didn't love nor hate the third. i feel this release is unnecessary. but the main reason i don't really like it is all down to the third film; The fast and the furious-Tokyo drift. if it didn't have "The fast and the furious" in the title you would have know idea its anything to do with the other two. at least they had the same character in. but this is just a completely different thing alltoghter. i thought ... ...garage like it said in the film. but anyway ill move on.
The fast and the furious-
i really enjoyed this film, it was different to anything i had seen back then and the characters were good as well.
the story follows Brian O'Connor played excellently by Paul Walker an undercover cop assigned to find out who's stealing electronic equipment he gets in with Domenic Toretto played brilliantly by Vin Diesel, whilst trying to find out who stole the ...

An unusual Angel
Review of Dark Angel - Season 1 (Box Set) (Wide Screen) by
scuba_angel
Advantages: well written has some big names
Disadvantages: dark, some poor episodes
Dark Angel is not a TV series many are familiar with, it was mainly shown on Sky 1 and only ran for two series between 2000 and 2002.
The show introduced Jessica Alba as a lead actress and was cancelled before the Third Season was made. Many fans campaigned to get it released on to DVD, the result is the box sets of the two series.
Season 1 has 21 episodes spilt over 6 discs. Each disc has either three or four epsiodes on it with seven episodes ... ...also a trailer for the Dark Angel game, but it looks exactly like every other game ad.
The people who feature regularly work well together, in particular Max and Logan's chemistry is clear, and you are waiting for them to act on it, but it is best that they don't as it adds something to your anticipation of series two.
In terms of the sets and set design it is all very dark, Max and the other X5's are usually wearing black or dark colours and the ...

The second and final season of Dark Angel
Review of Dark Angel - Season 2 (Box Set) (Wide Screen) by
ciaofluffymuppet
Advantages: Another 21 episodes in Max's mutant world
Disadvantages: Lots of people don't like the 'monsters'
...In Season 1 of Dark Angel we met Max, a genetically engineered soldier who was born and raised in the government's secret Manticore facility. Max escaped from Manticore with several of her siblings when she was a child, and has been living a low profile existence ever since. She teams up with undercover journalist Eyes Only to uncover corruption in a post-apocalyptic America, whilst trying to reconnect with her brothers and sisters and avoid being ... ...has a different feel, as we meet many more of Manticore's genetic experiments - most of whom are considerably less human than Max and her X5 siblings. They've all been bred for specific environments and tasks, and are far less able to cope with the real world than Max - and so she feels responsible for them. Max spends season 2 fighting for the right of these 'mutants' to live, whilst dealing with an impossible relationship with Logan (the man she ...

Kids with guns...
Review of Bullet Boy DVD by
l-m-n-o-p
Advantages: Great acting, surprisingly emotional
Disadvantages: Annoying street language, a little preachy
Bullet Boy is a BBC film co-production, directed by first-time director Saul Dibb, and starring former So Colid Crew member Ashley "Asher D" Walters.
Walters plays Ricky, an 18-year old just released from prison, trying to go straight and escape the cycle of violence in his neighbourhood in Hackney. He has a twelve-year old brother, Curtis (Luke Fraser), who is beginning to show signs of the gangster lifestyle he's surrounded by, and his mum (Claire ... ...Ciao says!
What made Bullet Boy so great was that despite its faults, I just couldn't take my eyes off it. The plot is very simple really, but it's totally gripping and tense as it spirals out of control, and it has some excellent twists that I certainly hadn't seen coming. The ending was particularly unexpected, and the whole film was extremely powerful and emotionally charged. If you're expecting him to magically escape the cycle and find a happy ...
