Lord of The Rings !!!
Review of The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (Box Set) by bsa86

Advantages: High Quality graphics and sound must be watched on a DVD !!
Disadvantages: You will regret not watching on a big screen though !!

...should not miss this movie. The movie has a really good story line and graphics are awesome. Before I have watched the first movie The fellowship of the ring I thought these kind of fiction movies can only be described and you get a feel only in the books !! But believe me after I have watched the first part I was stone cold. How could they have possibly made such graphics I thought !!! At the start of the first part you see description of creation ...
...an evil which controls all the rings arises !! Movie starts with an amazing battle where evil is defeated and the ring falls into hands of humans. But no person is capable of shielding the powers of the ring. Then comes frodo of shire who along with few other people forms the fellowship of the ring to destroy the ring before it falls into hands of evil !!! After I stared watching the first part I couldn't resist my temptation and watched the remaining ... Read review

The lord of the rings: the two towers
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers DVD by nicmrkhm

Advantages: acting, story, action packed
Disadvantages: duration of three hours

...of visual effects and acting, the fact that there are some fairly unknown actors playing some major roles helps with the fantasy feeling like a reality. if you've read the books then yyou maybe disappointed by the film as obviously there are bits that had to be missed out in order to cut the running time, if this is a major problem then i'd recommend you look into purchasing the extended edition. however if you havent read the books then this film ...
...film because of the action packed nature of it but girls there are plenty of advantages to the mainly male cast. this is not a film for you if you prefer short and snappy films as the running time is nearing 3 hours i believe. If you like the first film (the fellowship of the ring) then you'll love this one all the more if not for the story but for the battle at helms deep. it is worth seeing just for that! the story itself continues on from the ... Hobbitses and preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeecious...
Review of The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers (Special Extended Edition)(Collector's Gift Set) by CaptainDisaster

Advantages: Excellent film, worthwhile extras
Disadvantages: A bit gruesome in places

The Two Towers follows the story started in Fellowship of the Ring, where a party of nine set out from Rivendell to take a ring of power back to the fires where it was forged to destroy it. Its owner is now seeking that ring, and if it gets it, the whole of Middle Earth is doomed. So that party set out, made up of representatives of all the free races of Middle Earth - Hobbits, Men, Elves, and Dwarves, guided by a Wizard. Without going into too much ...
...lost and two captured. The Two Towers then is initially split into three narratives - the captured Hobbits, the three pursuing their captors, and the two Hobbits still trying to get the ring to Mount Doom. They get the feeling that they are being watched, however - soon they will meet one of the strangest creatures alive on Middle Earth. (Incidentally, if you haven't seen the films or read the books and are wondering what a Hobbit actually is, ... Read review

Apocalypto
Review of Apocalypto DVD by amerie86

Advantages: Great all round movie.
Disadvantages: A lot of violence

Apocalypto is the story of a happy Indian youth ripped savagely from his rainforest life by ruthless, bloodthirsty Mayan warriors. Its portrayal of the Mayan culture -- including its strange dress, hair styles, costumes, tattoos, body piercing, and decorative scars, as well as its industry, class system, cities, warfare, weapons, myth, and religion -- provide a bizarre and fascinating backdrop for what is, at its heart, a solid, thrilling, fast paced ...
...The movie does have a lot of violence, which although not for the faint hearted, is a realistic part of the culture being described. The whole movie is in an ancient native language, subtitled in English, and it lends an air of authenticity to the movie that I feel would have been missing otherwise. The acting is superb and the direction is without a doubt Mel Gibson's finest work. All in all a highly recommended movie. ... Read review
