Review of Hollywood Homicide (Wide Screen) by super_stevo

Advantages: Some funny moments
Disadvantages: you will need some matchsticks to keep them eyes open

...heard about this latest film, Hollywood Homicide and seeing previews about it I was curious to get a taste of the action. Harrison Ford stars as Joe Gavilan, a well known detective who cannot capture the same success in his personal life as he does at work. There are 3 ex-wives in Joe's life and he is well and truly stuck with a particularly bad investment in a large house that he intended to sell as part of his side real estate business. His partner, ...
...when something exciting happens(yawn)* Hollywood Homicide is a cinematic misfire of epic and historical proportions. When the movie is obviously trying to be clever, no one is laughing because the jokes fall flat. The scenes were seriously jumbled and you couldn’t really get into the plot at times because it was so sloppy. There is only one amusing sequences that has Joe and K.C. being interrogated separately. They both do their best not to ... Read review

Jack Ryan Returns
Review of Clear And Present Danger (Special Edition) by latingirl

Advantages: A good film with strong performances from everyone
Disadvantages: A slow start

...action scenes. On its own Clear and Present Danger is a good movie that once it gets going will keep you entertained for a couple of hours To date three actors have played Jack Ryan and it has to be said Harrison Ford makes the part his own by bringing depth and substance to a character that was otherwise portrayed as somewhat weak and two dimensional by the other two actors who have played Jack Ryan. ... Another White House Scandal.
Review of Clear And Present Danger (Wide Screen) by daseaford

Advantages: Good action and story.
Disadvantages: The Hovis tune.

This is another excellent Harrison Ford film, surrounding the war on drugs. A friend of the US President is involved with, and then killed by a Colombian drug cartel, the Cali Cartel. In retaliation the President indirectly orders the setting up of a team to destroy the cartel and all its members. Harrison Ford is cast as Dr Jack Ryan, the Deputy Director of Intelligence. The other members of the intelligence staff keep Ryan in the dark over the ...
...the truth. The film has a number of interesting twists in it and is extremely well directed and acted. The action shots are very well filmed and in some excellent locations. The only part of the film I did not like was the sequence when dead Americans were being fetched home in coffins. This sad moment was done in extremely good taste, but unfortunately the backing music was the same music used in the traditional Hovis Bread advert and this completely ... Read review

Right on Target
Review of Ultimate Force - Series 2 (Wide Screen) by MI9to5

Advantages: Great characters
Disadvantages: -

...seeing the first series of Ultimate Force I eagerly awaited the release of Series 2 and I have to say that it didn't fail to deliver. Like the first series, this series is again based around 'red troop' a troop of SAS soldiers. In terms of characters very few changes have been made Alex Leonard who left at the end of the first series is replaced by the cocky and loud-mouthed Louis Hoffman (who is first seen in Series 1 Episode 3) and BOX, whose ...
...Akhurst), who provides a love interest for Red Troop's charismatic Staff Sergeant Henno Garvie (Ross Kemp). This series is more explosive than the last on many levels with more bullets flying and more people falling especially in the opening episode where Red Troop find themselves in a blue on blue situation on a ship docked in Southampton and have to come to terms with the fact that it isn't only those on the other side that are falling. Rambo IV - Film Only
Review of Rambo DVD by DavidJay

Advantages: Ridiculously exciting, OTT extravaganza
Disadvantages: Morally disgusting

...his earlier Rocky Balboa. However, Rambo IV is still a ridiculously exciting, if politically disgusting, high-octane, uber-violent romp. Easily the equal of many of the fiercest horror films of recent times in terms of sheer gore and depravity - necks are ripped open, children are flung left and right, heads explode, innards spill to the dirt - the picture is considerably harsher than its predecessors. It is, though, just as moronic as the previous ...
...Religious, Cultural and Military Might. Rambo IV does nothing to reverse this trend, with Stallone being very open about the film's Christian values (a shame-faced attempt to ape Mel Gibson's success with similar audiences) and the piece as a whole stands as a justification for any amount of imperialist rampaging. That said - nauseating and barbaric it may be, but, much like the final third of Mark L. Lester's 1985 Commando, it's impossible not to ... Read review
