Advantages: Accurate portrayal of fighting in Africa, Bruce Willis actually acts.

I desperately wanted to see this movie for two reasons, the first is that in the early 1980's I was in the Army and part of an Elite Special Ops unit attached to a similar South African one and we fought an " unofficial " war in a country in Africa very close to Nigeria, helping the local people to overthrow a sick and twisted, self proclaimed Warlord, so I wanted to see just how accurately it portrayed war, African style. Yes there is a difference and it was highly refreshing to see Bruce shake off his " Die Hard " persona and get to grips with a very unusual and complex character who still goes against the grain but does it in a way that is actually for real and therefore, totally credible. ...the terrible mistakes which were Batman and Robin and Batman Forever. This time the costumes were good, the acting was good, and I actually enjoyed Katie Holmes in it even though for some reason I have been a bit prejudiced to her since Dawson's Creek and several other teenage movies she starred in in that era.
