complete and uncut and a wealth of special features. With quirky storylines from the likes of P.J. Hammond (Sapphire and Steel) and Victor Pemberton (Doctor Who) Ace of Wands was seen as a bold and daring variation of the standard fare for children's television in it's day. A multi-layered mystery drama it depicted not only Tarot's stage career as a conjuror and escapologist but also his adventures solving mysteries and crimes as he used his magical powers to fight various evil forces. The theme music "Tarot" was written and performed by Andy Bown (now with Status Quo). Advantages: Two great films in one box set Disadvantages: Have to buy Die Hard 3 separately.
that Die Hard3 was done by a different Studio and in the UK there was a bit of a problem with the distribution rights, so Die Hard 3 was sold as an individual purchse and not with this boxset. Shame. Since then the films have been sold in a multi pack without the extras.
It is also funny to see Robert Patrick of Terminator 2 in this as well.
If you can get the boxedset of two films do so, the third is available as a specialedition with the same flavour of extras and a different ending. If you cant you'll have to buy them individually and that may work out a bit more, but will still be worth it. With Die Hard 4 currently in production interest in these DVD's will soon be raised again.
Oh by the way these are the unedited versions of the film, which became evident when watching the second film with the stabbing in the eye by Mac ...
Advantages: To watch again and again, without interruption Disadvantages: It is repeated on Freeview again and again
features such as photo galleries, fact files and one bit of behind the scenes. It also comes with a map and a collector's edition booklet. The disks are stored in double DVD cases, with well-presented covers and the whole thing is then put in a nice cardboard box. I personally enjoy watching the series as and when I please, without parts being cut out or adverts in the middle or whatever. But as much as I would recommend the Sharpe Series you need to ask yourself whether you wish to purchase the boxset or just wait for it to come round on the TV again. ...
Advantages: A stunning film, two DVDs, lots of extra?s and an extended version Disadvantages: Can be slow at times
?t disappoint. There are some great moments, some of which are really heartfelt, and its a film that stands out from the rest, because its not quite like anything else.
~~The Abyss - The DVD~~
It cost me £22.99 from MVC, a little more than I wanted to pay but still, for what you get, its pretty good, and at the time, it was a treat. Recently its been on sale, for £9.99, typical isn?t it, the only difference is that mine came in a cardboard case, whereas the sale one is a plastic one. There are two DVD?s, one with the two film versions, and the other with all the other extra?s.
~~Extra?s~~
Original theatrical, and special extended edition versions of the film, Text commentary (for both versions), 12 page booklet, Trailers, Behind the scenes, Documentary, Original screenplay, Featutette, Special effects reel, Photo gallery, Cast biographies ...
