Plot: Bernie (Dustin Hoffman) is a down and out. He's got a kid who thinks he's a god when in reality he's a small crook, always trying to scam and con people. One day he sees a plane crash and manages to rescue everyone before the the plane explodes. However he is a bit camera shy and dissapears into the night, leaving only 1 clue - his show. Gale Gayley ( Geena Davis) a reporter was on board the plane and decided to floow up this mysterious stranger ... ...million dollars for the mystery hero to identify himself. However Bernie gives the other shoe to a homeless Vietnam Veteran, John (Andy Garcia). Andy clooects the reward for the city's homeless but Bernie is angered that no-one will belive he is a hero, after all he is a small time crook and it even breaks his heart his kid wont believe him. Advantages: Very, Very Funny Disadvantages: You don't want it to finish
Bernie is the main character in this film and a very funny one at that, he has a son who he hardly sees and is in trouble with the law but apart from that life is good for him. He's a bit of a down and out and take's life as it comes he steals and shows his son what to do, his son though loves his Dad and respects him. When a plane comes to a crash in front of his car he pretends he tries not to help, but with all the people in the plane screaming ... ...he doesn't rush the plane he takes his shoes off (after all these are very expensive shoes) first then he goes and opens the emergency exit. When the door is opened he gets trampled on, a young lad comes to the man asking him to rescue his Dad and because Bernie loves his son he thinks what would it be like if his son didn't have a Dad so he goes into the plane looking for the boys Dad and it turns out he is already out of the plane, but Bernie manages ...
