Advantages: Paul Weller live DVD Disadvantages: Can't be seen full screen on normal TV
...Weller and his band doing a 95 minute live set that comes solely from Paul's solo career. The full band and track listing can be found at the end of the review. I've always thought that Paul Weller sounds even better live than he does on vinyl/cd, and this DVD captures the vibrant energy that is evident whenever he is on stage.
Not only will you see Paul playing his customary guitars, he also playskeyboards on a number of tracks.
Overall an outstanding DVD - my only criticism is if you don't watch it on a widescreen tv, then your picture is 'letterboxed' so the image only appears on the middle part of your screen, with a black band at the top and bottom.
The band:
Paul Weller on vocals / keyboard / guitars
Steve White on drums
Steve Craddock (from Ocean Colour Scene) on guitars
Chris Holland on keyboard
Edgar Jones on bass

Advantages: IMO Depeche Mode's best live DVD to date: a fantastic performance & wonderfully reworked songs. Disadvantages: Can't really think of any!
...). The DVD features are good, and only increase the 'value for money' factor; remastered music videos, tour projections, and an MTV Rockumentary that includes interviews with all band members. But really, the performance alone is worth the price, I reckon. So, if you like Depeche Mode, I strongly recommend you go and buy it (and if you don't, this may well convert you!).

Advantages: Great concert, really well edited, great bonus features Disadvantages: Picture quality not amazing
...For those of you who don't know him or his music, Jack Johnson is a singer/songwriter from Hawaii. He plays in a band with 3 other guys, a drummer, bass player and piano and he himself plays guitar. So far he's released 3 albums, and 3 DVD's in the UK and has just been here on tour. His music is sort of soft folk rock, with catchy melodies and lyrics. At times it can sound quite jazzy, especially with the talented Zach Gill on piano. He appeals to people of all ages, you wouldn't be embarrassed to find your parents listening to him either, he's just that good!
I bought this from Play.com for £12.99, it's also available from Amazon, HMV and many other music/dvd stores.
I've been a Jack Johnson fan for a while now and having bought Thicker Than Water (his first DVD) I thought I would treat myself to this, and what a treat...
