Accelerate Your Drumming DVD

...When I get the kind of feelings watching a movie that I got whatching this it´s necessary to buy it to be able watching it over again whenever I whant. At first you get this cold, dark mood just observing the facts that it is a city of loneliness, suffering, dispere and disillusioned ambulansedrivers. Then the madness accelerate and becomes more and more extreme (Nicholas Cave at his best) until it breaks and there is this wonderful paradox that I feel happy and overwhelmed by the increasing insanety .... A story about a very unconventional hero! It is also a story of giving without geting credit for your effort, giving without having anything to give and taking it to the edge and beyond.... Advantages: Amazing guitaring, classic tunes, good sound
Disadvantages: no dramatics apart from the playing

...I have recently bought this DVD and to sum it up straight away it is briliant. Eric performs on the Austin City Limits TV Show But don't by this DVD if your expecting fireworks and stage dramatics!! The reason for this is that Eric Johnson is a perfectionist, he wants every note perfect, while watching Cliffs of Dover you will notice a shake of the head when he muffles 1 note by mistake!! He even such a perfectionist he even makes sure he uses certain batteries in his pedals as that can affect the sound. But back to the DVD, recorded in Austin Texas 14th December 1988. Eric on guitar, Kyle Brock on bass and Tommy Taylor on drums. The sounds Eric can get off his guitar are out of this world. The band are very tight and Johnsons Improvising skills are amazing. ...This DVD includes everything you can see on the stage and brings it together to you on your own sofa. An amazing experince where you can watch and listen to music, but not just any music, i mean who thought of making a performance out of everyday household objects such as brooms, dustbins, kitchen utensils etc? As a musician and a theatre studies student I can safely say that this is a joy to watch and listen to. Its the type of thing that you can put on either when you're working and have it on in the background, watch for the visual side and simply close your eyes, relax and be swept away by the amazing contrapuntal textures, syncopations, heavy drumming, dances and all in all a fantastic performance from amazingly talented musicians/dancers!...
