About a Boy This stars Rachel Weisz, Toni Collete and, of course, Hugh Grant. The storyline follows Will Freeman (Grant) as he lives the perfect life thanks to his dad's genius song writing - therefore entitling him to the song royalties for the rest of his life. However, he is lacking a serious relationship, and therefore pretends to have a son in order to join a club for single parents. He consequently meets Marcus... a 12 year old boy who turns his life upside down, but does help Will to find a bit of love on the way!
The bonus material includes deleted scenes with the director's commentary, Badley Drawn Boy music videos and the mking of About a Boy. I found the storyline unrealistic and felt that the humour was lacking in places, but I did enjoy the on screen relationship between Will and Marcus - which was sufficiently awkward to remind me of the comic situation which can be created from genuine difficulties... especially when children have to accept a new parent.
Notting Hill Starring Julia Roberts as the famous actress Anna Scott, and Hugh Grant as the bookshop owner William Thacker, I think that this film is a particular success because Roberts shares the limelight with Grant, therefore making both actors easier to watch. Anna Scott is a dazzling actress, in London to promote her new sci-fi film. Whilst she is there, she wanders into a travel book shop in Notting Hill, and buys a book on Turkey - served by William. Despite the doubts of everyone that the most famous film star will fall for the man on the street, it happens, after she spends the night at Thacker's house. However, they had reckoned without the media, and all looks doomed thanks to Spike's (Rhys Ifans, who plays a mad welsh man who is Grant's flat mate) tip off down the pub!
Each actor is great to watch individually, and I do think that Grant is much better when someone else is just as lovely to watch as him!
The bonus material includes a travel guide to Notting Hill, Cast and Filmmakers biographies and a theatrical trailer. I would reccomend this film to people who love fairytale stories - but the filmdoes get a bit tedious towards the end as Anna starts whining about the price of fame.. etc etc. Definitely one to watch though!
Love Actually This is absolutely fantastic! It is very seasonal - set at Christmas, but that doesn't spoil a thing. The soundtrack is absolutely brilliant - including Bill Nighy's own version of 'Christmas is All Around'! The film stars: Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley and many more... all of the characters are interwoven - and we follow 10 different love stories which all climax at Christmas! These relationships range from the one between two 12 year olds, to the prime minister and his secretary, to claudia schiffer and a recent widow.. definitely encompassing all aspects of love! The bonus features include deleted scenes with an introduction by Richard Curtis; an audio commentary with Richard Curtis, Hugh Grant and Thomas Sangster; and The 'Christmas is All Around' music video. This is definitely my favourite film from this boxset because it is funny and sad and realistic too. It is also nice to see so many famous actors working all together on one great film, so if you need some Colin Firth or Hugh Grant therapy this is definitely the one for you!
The overall boxset has a rating of 15 years with the films lasting for the following durations: About a Boy 1hr 37minutes approx Notting Hill 1hr 59 minutes approx Love Actually 2hr 09 minutes approx
I love this boxset and reccomend it because it is so much fun and excellent value for money.

Advantages: Three great movies in one set Disadvantages: None
...all time favourite fims and Love Actually is very good. These films aren't for anyone seeking action/horror/thriller/sci-fi, these films are comedy and romance, and in my opinion some of the best british films ive seen. If you've seen one of these and enjoyed it but this because you'll definetly like them. These films had me laughing and crying contantly throughout them. I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys a romantic comedy. ...

DVD Description
Includes the British romantic comedies LOVE ACTUALLY, NOTTING HILL, and ABOUT A BOY, all starring Hugh Grant. LOVE ACTUALLY is set in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The story weaves a quilt of interlocking or unrelated vignettes all dealing with the subject of love. There's the new Prime Minister who falls for his personal assistant and the Prime Minister's sister Karan, who realises that her husband is attracted to his secretary. Author Jamie fleas England to escape his unfaithful girlfriend and then falls for his housekeeper, while movie stand-ins, John and Judy become attracted to each other on the film set. Recently widowed Daniel helps his stepson who is smitten with one of his classmates and Billy Mack, an ageing rock star discovers that love can be found in the most unlikely of places. In NOTTING HILL, a famous actress in disguise in London runs into a divorced bookstore owner. They strike up a friendship with each other as they each find something that was previously missing from their own lives. In ABOUT A BOY, Will Freeman lives lavishly off the royalties from a hit Christmas song penned by his father and excels at nothing except doing nothing, which, in his case, includes shopping for CDs and having his hair professionally dishevelled. When Will makes a guilt-free exit from a brief fling with a single mum, he decides to crash a meeting of S.P.A.T. (Single Parents, Alone Together) in pursuit of more single mothers. This scheme appears to pay off, leading Will to meet Suzie along with Marcus, the socially awkward 12-year-old son of her flaky best friend, Fiona. A series of odd situations leads to Will and Marcus becoming unlikely friends, and gradually both of their lives start to change for the better.
