...I remember summer holidays from school, spending mornings watching films by these two comics as they used to show a lot of their re-runs in those days. (When ah were a lad!) They made a lot of spoof horror films as I recall, such as ‘Abbott and Costellomeet Frankenstein…’ or the Mummy… They were pretty funny as well, or so I thought. About five years ago I saw a bit of one of these spoof films and found that Lou Costello still made me laugh a bit even then, so when I saw this film for an extremely cheap price I had to get it.
I have been checking out old films a bit of late – I recently watched a Laurel and Hardy film, but that was pants. Would Bud and Lou restore my faith in comedy of the 1950’s? ...Jekyll is a modern version of the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde story. The drama depicts actor James Nesbitt as Dr Jackmen, decendant of Dr Jekyll. The story is set over one hundred years on from the original Dr Jekyll and Mr hyde in 2007 and starts with Dr Jackman making a deal with his evil side to share their body on shifts. As the drama goes on viewers learn that Dr JAckman has a family that Hyde originally doesnt know about, an organisation named Cline and Utterson is tracking Jackmans every move and controling his life and that Dr Jackman is dying. Throughout the series questions are constantly put into viewers minds about the reason the organisation wants Dr Jackman, where Jackman came from and to what lengths the organisation will go to to get Jackman. All the questions are answered in the final two episodes in which viewers see Jackman...

Advantages: Loved the idea of the characters! Disadvantages: Bad plot, poor acting!
...leaders and basically spark off a world war. Realising that he doesn't have much of a choice, Allan must find the remaining members of the league and get them to the conference which is to be held in Venice in 3 or 4 days time to stop the attack.
Allan meets and recruits Mina Harker, Rodney Skinner and Captain Nemo, but he still has to find Dorian Gray and Jekyll/Hyde. What about Sawyer I hear you cry? You'll find out where he comes in in a minute. After Allan and the others visit Dorian, he is somewhat reluctant to join the league and after an attack by the Phantom, Sawyer shows up to save the day. So that's them recruited, now Allan must track down Jekyll and Hyde in Paris.
After some persuading, Jekyll/Hyde is convinced to help the League on the condition that he can go home to England. So that's the league sorted, it's off to Venice...
